Neuroplasticity refers to the changes that occur to the structure and number of neurones in the body of an organism.
Neuroscience is a very good field of science to study how human beings grow or retard in their thinking ability. Some people think that when you grow your intelligence quotient(I.Q) also reduces. But it isn't so. It is because of neuroplasticity that is why I.Q varies periodically. You can choose to make it high by performing some activities or make it low by performing some activities. There is a term that says "use or disuse" It simply means the more you use some part of your brain, the more your brain develops to transmit such regular impulses quickly. The more you don't use it ,the more the neurones that transmit such impulses diminish in structure. This calls for the two types of neuroplasticity. They are potentiation and depreciation.
POTENTIATION
In a way, the word is self-explanatory. Potentiation is basically the improvement or development of the structure and number of neurones in order to transmit impulses due to the regular reception of such impulse. So taking a neurone; The neurone has branches at the end of the axon called dendrites. The end of the dendrites is adjacent to the end of the dendrites of another neurone. The gap in between is called a synapse. Now if more and more impulses carried by the neurotransmitters are received, the neurones automatically develops excess dendrites to make sure such impulses are transmitted very fast. The synapse gaps are also improved by number when the dendrites are increased. This explains why some people become very brilliant at some point in time. When they begin to learn,solve more questions or expose themselves to things that juggles the brain, the neuroplasticity that occurs is potentiation.
DEPRECIATION
In finance when we say someone is depreciating, it means it is reducing in quality/quantity/price tag. It is analogical to how the brain works. I said earlier on that, when you don't use something, you loose it. The neurones that transmit impulses retard in growth or underdevelop when the impulses are not received as they should be. When it happens, the branches of the neurones break off. The number of synapses that should be available for the impulses to be transmitted quickly are reduced. This causes attributes like dumb, block-headed and the likes to be given to oneself due to ignorance.

Avoid multitasking
Learning consistently but in a smart and very effective way.
Regular meditation also increases your intelligence quotient.
Performing running activities increases neurone population.
Try to change your daily routine
Regular exercising is needed
In performing some domestic activities,close your eyes and do it. It makes your senses sharp and brightens your imagination level.
