"HUMILITY AND SERVICE"
John 13:14-15 (NIV) 14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet. 15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.
Jesus goal in washing His disciples' feet, was to extend His mission on earth after He was gone. His disciples were to move into the world serving God, serving one another and serving people to whom they share the Gospel of salvation. Washing of one's feet is an ACT OF HUMILITY AND SERVICE. Serving others takes humility because one needs to let go of his pride to be able to do it. The Lord showed an example for us to follow in doing all the works in the ministry.
