When a person kills himself, it is called suicide. Again there are some people who injure themselves or harm themselves. But they have no real desire to die. This is called parasuicide. The Scandinavian region, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Eastern European countries, and Japan have the highest suicide rates (over 25 million). In the last 50 years, the suicide rate in the world, mainly in developing countries, has increased by 80 percent. Bangladeshis account for 2.06 percent of all suicides worldwide. In Bangladesh, 127.08 lakh people commit suicide every year. This number is increasing every year. In Bangladesh, 26 people commit suicide every day. In Bangladesh, people commit suicide by drinking pesticides, poisoning rats, hanging, sleeping or painkillers, Harpic, Savlon etc. The suicide rate is higher among young girls.

The main cause of suicide is mental disorder. 26% to 90% of suicides are associated with mental health problems. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, 31% of the total population in Bangladesh or about 50 million people suffer from some form of mental problem. Monogamy, lovelessness, falling into the trap of lying, losing to someone, embezzling wealth, living in chronic pain, failing exams, not knowing the purpose and self-realization of life, knowing religious customs, ideals Not being, not implementing religious and ethical education at the national level etc.
