Chinese Bread Recipe

This is the recipe that I usually prepare at home, and it is just as good as the one served in restaurants.

Ingredients (for 8 small breads):

* 300 gr. normal wheat flour

* 190 gr. milk

* 20 gr. of sugar

* 12-15 gr. of lard

* 8 gr. Dry yeast bakery or 25 gr. fresh baker's yeast

* 2 gr. of salt

Preparation:

To start, we put the milk (previously tempered in the microwave) in a bowl and dissolve in it 5 gr. of sugar and yeast, and let it rest for 10 or 15 minutes for the yeast to start to activate.

Now we add the melted butter (it can be substituted for butter or olive oil), the 20 gr. of sugar, flour and salt, and mix well with a wooden spoon or similar (if we have a mixer, we can use it instead of kneading by hand). When we cannot continue with the spoon, we go to the table (or the mixer) and knead for about 8 minutes.

We roll the dough, oil a bowl and let it rest inside, covered with film or a cloth, for approximately 1 hour.

We pass the dough to the table again, lightly floured, and degas by kneading for a few seconds. Now, with the help of a rolling pin, we are flattening the dough and giving it a rectangular shape at the same time until it is half a centimeter thick.

Smear the entire surface with a little oil, except for one of the sides that we will leave dry (to seal later). We roll the dough towards the side that we have left dry. When we reach the dry part, with a brush, we paint the dry part with water and finish rolling.

We will have a roll of dough, which we will divide into 8 equal parts (if we want to make larger breads, divide into 4 portions), and we will place them on a piece of baking paper, and later, we cover with a cloth and let it rest for about 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, we prepare the steamer, and after the 30 minutes of rest, we place the loaves with the paper on the steamer tray, leaving some space between them (since they will grow in this part of the process) and steam them for 15 minutes.

Remove from the tray and let cool on the baking paper for 10 minutes.

Now, we can fry in sunflower oil, at a temperature of 180ยบ, leaving it for a minute or a half minute on each side. We must be careful so that they do not burn us. Let cool on absorbent paper, and you will have them ready to eat!
