Become a Ritualist

You never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine ~ John C. Maxwell

I want to believe that this quote is not new thing to you.

If you want to become a master, you must become a 'Ritualist'!

Ritual is a specific, observable mode of behaviour exhibited by all known societies. It is thus possible to view ritual as a way of defining or describing humans.

Source.

Gaining mastery is directly proportional to consistency!!

You cannot change your worth until you develop mastery. Until you master a skill, you do not deserve to be paid a premium for your services.

Most people believe that your future is tied to your past or that your future is on your inside. Well, truth be told your future is in your daily routine.

Do you want to change the course of your life? Change your daily routine

  • What is your average day like?

  • What's do you do more?

  • Who do you spend most of your time with?

  • What are the first 3 activities you do after waking up?

  • What 3 activities do you do before going to bed?

  • Who are the five people you listen to daily?

Believe it or not, you are already designing your life.

Have you heard about The 10,000 rule? I recommend the book, Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell.

The 10000 rule is premised on the theory that the overwhelming majority of experts who are in the top 1% in their professions or leads have spent a minimum of 10000 hours honing on their skills.

Putting it in perspective, 10000 hours would mean 20hours per week for 10years

The idea is to practice, practice and practice until you cannot do it wrong!

John Dryden said

We first make our habits, and then our habits make us!

Mastery is key to performance, superior performance, and more earnings! The way up there is through a healthy routine!

On a side note...

The headline of this post is become a ritualist, don't get it twisted.

It's the time of the year when everything is always on speed mode. This is because people want to meet up with the goals set at the beginning of the year within the short time that remains before the year goes to an end.

A lot of disasters happen during this period. Some people can go 'extreme' in realizing their goals.

The death toll also rises during this period. All these are just because of wanting to meet up.

Perhaps you are making it hard on yourself this period too, I urge you to take it easy. Time will slow down again and everything will come to normal.

Do not join the multitude to do evil just because you want to achieve your goals before the year ends. Be proud of the little growth you've had this year. It's a sign that you are moving forward in life and not stagnant.

Why destroy the little you have gathered because of the plenty you have not seen and are not sure of getting?

Remember, time will slow down again, do not take shortcuts.

There can be an overflow of goals. This means what you didn't achieve this year can be achieved next year. In the end, take it that this year was not the right time for you to achieve it.

Little growth is still growth. Be proud of yourself. Be proud of what you have achieved this year. Time will slow down again. Take it easy.

So. I like to review my activities at the end of the month and then a year. In the end, I will find out loopholes that need filling. And then make necessary adjustments and put in extra effort where need be, to improve on my successes.

Something that's Paramount for us to know is that there is no shortcut to success... We have to go through the stress to succeed

A few get the shortcut to success. Just VERY FEW. For most, we need to keep grinding to earn success and maintain it.

This is a wonderful piece.

Our life is indeed shaped into what we engage ourselves into, people we talk to or listen to, things we do and so on.

Also, before one will become a boss, one has to serve. Towards the end of the year, people always feel underachieved, and start trying to figure out their new year goals set some months ago, just a few days to the next year

That feeling of underachievement and the need to achieve in time lead some people astray. They commit to doing anything possible to achieve within the shortest time possible. We all know the rest of the story.
