Being healthy can start at an early age, and it is possible for children to take it as they get older. Even before they are completely addicted to delicious but unhealthy foods such as ice cream, hotdogs, and hamburgers, it is good for them to get used to eating healthy foods, as well as discovering the fun of exercise.

If children are trained to be healthy, they need to use imagination and simple language because they do not fully understand the concept of nutrition. Here are some tips you can do:

Learn to be healthy

Children usually look up to their parents in all areas. As a role model for your child, show him or her what you eat and the exercises you do. Explain why you do your daily chores so that they become interested. Your child will likely imitate you.

Of course, you do not have to be perfect, but do not just show your child if you have a passion that is not meaningful for his or her health.

Encourage them to play instead of soaking in the TV or computer

Many of our seniors are soaked in TV and computers that they are not in good health. Remember that it can cause obesity, insomnia, and high blood pressure due to lack of physical activity. It is okay for children to watch TV and use a computer as long as it is not too much.

Encourage them to go to the playground and play with friends. Games like chase, hideout, and sky earth are great exercises. They will also learn to deal with other people, which is an important characteristic of their aging.

Join them in eating vegetables and fruits.

Children are naturally curious and will be thrilled to see the different colors and shapes of vegetables and fruits. Show them that not only do these foods look good, they are also delicious to eat. Accompany the child to eat laid vegetables and fruits and show him that you enjoy it.

If he or she does not like fruits and vegetables, make food a game of them. Give him a reward when he runs out of food, until he gets used to eating them. In fact, vegetables and fruits are good foods for children because of their vitamin and mineral content.

Make ice candy with fruit

Filipino children definitely love ice candy because it is cold and sweet. You can make your favorite snack healthier when the ingredients used are real fruit. This type of ice candy tastes better and has less sugar content, which is unhealthy when consumed in large quantities.

Take a sweet fruit like mango (sliced) or strawberries and put it in the blender. Add a little water as needed. Transfer the juice to small plastic bags and freeze them inside the freezer. The result is delicious and healthy ice candy that can be considered a healthy food for children.

Give them healthier alternatives

Kids really love soft drinks and junk foods, which are both unhealthy. Fortunately, there are healthier alternatives that children will love.

Instead of buying cheesecake, they can cook baked French fries at home using potatoes sold in the market or supermarket. Non-fat and unsweetened yogurt (including fruit), sorbet, and homemade ice candy are good substitutes for ice cream - all rich in vitamins and minerals. Fruit juice or sparkling water mixed with fruit juice can replace soft drinks - it tastes even better than regular soda.

Apart from the ones discussed, there are many other ways to make your child healthier. Just look at his passions and find a way to make them healthier. If you are unsure of what to do, you can consult a doctor or nutritionist.
