This day is celebrated in the country every year with the aim of protecting the street children and establishing their rights. Today's children are the future of tomorrow. Mother's lap is their safe haven.
From birth onwards, in every chapter of life, street children are subjected to various forms of neglect and deprivation. On the road, they ask pedestrians for one or two rupees in various ways. Some pick up the paper again. Even in severe winters they are often seen without warm clothes, which is inhumane and tragic.
There are thousands of street children in different cities of the country including the capital Dhaka. The path is their abode. Those who live on the way. Those who have been familiar with the battle of life since birth. Sun-rain, hot-winter are equal to those. It doesn't matter to them whether they have clothes or not. When they wake up in the morning, instead of having breakfast with their mother's delicious food, they eat people's reprimands. When other children are busy searching for knowledge in school, they are busy searching for their own shortcomings. Dressed in rags or without clothes, these are known everywhere as Path Shishu.
Path Children's Day is celebrated in our country every year with the aim of protecting the path children of the country and establishing their rights. The United Nations and its affiliated organization, UNICEF, are playing a strong role in protecting children's rights and their health.
Street children are someone's children, relatives. Because the best creatures created by God are human beings, street children also have fair rights. In an independent country, these street children also have the right to grow up with equal opportunities. They also have the right to basic food, clothing, shelter, education, and medical care. National Street Children's Day should be celebrated with the commitment to establish and implement the rights of street children.
