At the root of our constant pursuit of worldly life, the question that influences us is "How will food come?"
Without qualifications, work will not come, if you do not work, money will not come, if you do not earn money, you will not be able to buy evergreens and if you do not buy evergreens, there will be no food and you will not be able to eat.
All our leaps and bounds in this world are for this little sustenance. Where we can't get up properly at Fajr, we are lazy, we agree to do school for children at 7 in the morning, office at 10 in the morning, overnight duty for extra salary, tuition to five sirs for good results. You know what "human being" means in today's society, to be able to work, to be one of the earners
But, in such a busy time, during lunch period, at tiffin time or after school-office holidays or at leisure time, we forget about prayers. Reluctance.
This is a problem in the beginning. Is there any benefit if you give water to the branches of the tree without giving water at the base of the tree?
There is no gain. Exactly the same as the one in whose hand Rizik forgets about him, disobeys him, makes him happy in the office or writes the answer in the exam, there is a gain, will you get anything?
So let's get rid of the mistake at the beginning. I don't think about who is the owner of this creation, who wants everything to rise and fall, who wants to pour water on my face if I want to. And whoever has the address of the source will have to run here and there like a lost person, the sustenance will come to his work by himself.
Suppose water is not coming to your bathroom faucet. You got the news that the pea is damaged and meanwhile your head is damaged due to lack of water. But, I remembered that the main source is the water tank of the surrounding area. So you wisely went there in the first part and brought water.
Now look at the source of sustenance is Allah, and the remembrance of Allah, reliance on Him will calm our hearts that Allah is the Sustainer and I am trying to rely on Him for my sustenance. Now when I go out in search of work, I will give labor to eat twice, then Allah Himself will provide pure sustenance.
And this is the promise of Allah, concerning which Allah says:
"Whoever fears Allah, Allah will find a way out for him.
And he will provide for her from a source she never imagined.
And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, then He is sufficient for him. God will fulfill His purpose. Indeed, Allah has set a time for everything. "[1]
That is, the first way to find the source is to fear Allah and rely on Allah. Use taqwa and tawakkul together, it will fulfill the conditions and the rest is the promise of Allah Himself. And the promise of Allah is true, He Himself said,
"Remember, to Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth. The promise of Allah is true, but most of them do not know." [2]
In this way we will be directly connected with Allah and the problem of our sustenance will be removed. Even the Prophet himself said about ﷺ and sustenance,
"If you put your trust in God,
Then he would provide for you in the same way as you feed the birds.
The birds come out on an empty stomach in the morning, and return in the afternoon with a full stomach. "
You understand how safe it will be to remember. But another thing, it is seen that even after trying to keep the faith right, it is difficult to get sustenance. Your faith may be right here, but it may be because the faith of some people in our society is shaky.
An incident of Moses is noteworthy in this regard. Once his people fell into water crisis. Everyone asks him to pray to Allah for rain. When he prayed, Allah informed him that there was a sinner among his people. When he told his people about the Glory of Allah, they repented and Allah sent down rain from the sky showing His forgiveness.
Subhanallah!
For one sinner the sustenance of the whole nation was stuck. Even God warns,
"And if the people of the towns had believed and guarded (against evil), We would certainly have opened upon them blessings from the heaven and the earth, but they disbelieved. Then We seized them for what they earned." [4]
Therefore, we have to call on ourselves as well as our other Muslim brothers and sisters and Iman, Taqwa and Tawakkul. The combined efforts of all are another step in solving the problem of our sustenance.
The last resort is to repent and forgive more and more. This will open the way for forgiveness of known and unknown sins, increase our loyalty to Allah, strengthen our link with Allah. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
"If a person prays regularly, Allah will free him from every danger, free him from all worries, and provide him with sustenance from a source he cannot even imagine." [5]
