Yes, you read that right. This might come as a surprise to many but it's in fact the absolute truth. Men get breast cancer too. Where is the breast, you may ask. The human anatomy shows that although men do not have breasts like women, they do have a small amount of breast tissue. This tissue doesn't develop and grow like it's normal with a growing girl, but it's there. So they can actually develop breast cancer.
Breast cancer starts when cells in the breast begin to grow out of control. Doctors believed that breast cancer in men was more severe than it was in women. It is also diagnosed late because men do not often suspect that something is wrong with them in that area. It is rare in younger men under the age of 34. Breast cancer mostly affects men who are between the ages of 60 and 70.
However, breast cancer in men is extremely low. But this doesn't mean that younger men shouldn't do a routine check. Don't hesitate when you discover a lump on your chest. Most men ignore till their nipples start to bleed. By then, the cancer has already spread.
