There's this joy that comes with helping others, especially when we do it freely. The fulfillment. The peace. It's beautiful. It gives a complete feeling at that very moment. It gets better when it is received with love.
One thing I learned, I would say rather late, in life is that giving is a huge part of life. Yes, I was giving but I wasn't getting fulfillment from it. I just did because I could and because I could spare, not really because I loved to. There's a difference between giving as a duty and giving out of love. Differentiating both can be difficult sometimes. When you give out of love, you expect nothing in return.
I think that changed for me when I understood fully what God's abundance truly means. It stopped being an obligation for me. It became an act of service. It became fulfilling. I stopped looking for what I could get in return. I believe the people in my life also contributed to this. The universe has been faithful lately, pushing the right persons my way. The right people alone can affect a person's growth and outlook in life a whole lot.
What does giving mean to you? Do you find fulfillment in helping others?.
Do tell.
