The title is a little tricky, I know. I haven't seen erotica on here before, and I'm not sure how one will be received, so I'm going to keep this on the literary and screen level. The movie was adapted from the books;
Fifty Shades of Grey
Fifty Shades Darker &
Fifty Shades Freed
By E.L James
THE BOOKS
The narrator was Anastasia Steel, a final year English Language student. The first time I heard about them, I never paid attention. It was the movie actually. I didn’t know it had a book, or a series for that matter. Fast forward to about a year and half later, I found them – the books that the movies were adapted from, and I have to say, I absolutely love them.
E .L James did justice to those books. The narration is just beautiful, same with the plot. I couldn’t drop any of them till I finished, the repetition of the word 'blanch' and the kinky parts not withstanding.
Another thing I love about them is the way the story is told in first person. I write in first person a whole lot and I have discovered that it's kind of easier for me. I relate more with my characters. Some say a writer leaves a part of himself or herself in every story but, sometimes, you will be writing a story and you discover that it just isn’t flowing. I mean, the plot and settings are in place and okay but you writing it feels detached, like it’s not really coming from deep within. The story may still come out nice or not. Writing in first person takes care of that for me. Maybe that’s why I love the books. Plus the humour.
THE MOVIE
As is with every movie adaptation, the plot isn't always complete. The screenwriters and producers go with what is suitable for the screen. This one is no different, but it was still done beautifully. I know a number of people who are disgusted by the movie, because according to them, Christian Grey is a psychopath who loves to punish women that looks like his mother but was depicted as a love story and romantic. But you have to agree with me that the plot was well done. The actors did the trick.
I love that they showed Anastasia like she is in the books – a woman capable of making her own decisions. You watch some series sometimes after reading the book and you get very angry because they murdered the character completely and created an entirely new one. But it isn't the case here. I especially love the interview scene.
Have you seen the movie or read the books? What do you think about them?

I haven't seen the movie or read the book. I am glad that you enjoyed it. I have read reviews that were rather negative - saying that if you take the sex away, not much quality is left.
Any way, you title made me laugh :)

Haha. Thank you. Yes, it's a sex themed book and movie. People who give the negative review tend to forget that. The book is much better. It gives a background understanding of the characters. You should take a look. The books first before the movie, preferably.
