Boarding School, Yay or Nay?

This is a bit tricky. First, because of personal preferences and second, where you are in the world. For some people, going to a boarding school was the best thing that happened to them. For others, it was the worse thing. There are those who longed for it because it was that only place they had peace. It was their place of escape. There are also those who hated it and never wished to go back. But that is aside. Let's keep this on educational and growth level.

Would you send your child to a boarding school?

Personally, I'm not sure I would. Children grow so fast and before you know it, they're gone. And I would want my children to grow under my watch. Maybe when they are fifteen or sixteen. But I'm never sending a ten or eleven year old to a boarding school. That's just too cruel. I remember I wanted so much to go to a boarding school. All my friends were gone but my mum refused. She used money as an excuse. It wasn't until I was much older that I understood what she was really shielding me from. And I loved her for it.

I say sixteen because they would be close to their senior year and graduation. But that would be for peer pondering and socialisation. To learn from others, teach others, learn to be independent and how to protect their space. They only get to learn these things when they step out. It kind of prepares them for university as well. But I might still change my mind and decide to not do it. LOL.

Anyway, tell me what it is for you. Yes or no?
