Arthur Reginald Le Vant parked his BMW on the driveway of his home. He switched off the engine, removed the spectacles from his eyes, and rubbed his tired eyes with his index and thumb. The three-hour continuous journey is over for now. Now she needs a bath, hot food, a bottle of scotch and a bed - all four of these things. After spending four days in business in London, now that he is back home, he has a little 'peace of mind' in his mind. It is not possible to travel from Huntley to London every day, so he spends the whole week in London and comes home to Huntley on the weekends - that is his intention. The Swanki Hotel in Huntley was right for him, with tax breaks; But where will he find comfort and peace than home? It feels good to leave the hustle and bustle of London and come to this quiet and beautiful environment of Huntley on weekends. He liked the Huntley place so he bought a house here. Now June must be waiting for him inside the house. June was thrilled to buy her home in Huntley. Arthur put his hand in the pocket of his great coat. He held the small velvet box in his hand. She bought a pair of gold and emerald earrings for June. Bought from Bond Street in London. Arthur knows that June can buy anything she wants by ordering online. Yet he is bringing gifts for his wife, it has a special significance. As soon as the door of BMW's pilot seat opened and came down, a strange smell came to Arthur's nose. Arthur sniffed and sniffed. Tried to understand what the smell was. The smell of raw meat! Arthur glanced at the kitchen window of the house. Yes, that light is on in the kitchen. Arthur tried to guess, maybe June was working in the kitchen. Making dinner with any item of meat. Whenever she comes home on the weekends, June cooks her favorite items that day. Makes roast chicken. Maybe something like that is still being made today. The meat is not cooked yet, so its raw smell is wafting.

In the midst of the thought, Arthur walked towards the entrance of the house. The door is open.

"... I'm in the house ..." Arthur shouted as he entered the house and lowered his briefcase to the floor of the hallway, looking at the kitchen. No answer was found from the kitchen. Arthur walked towards the kitchen with the sound of moss in his shoes. He thought he would see his wife near the sink. He is busy making a glass of wine in one hand and dinner in the other. But when Arthur peeked into the kitchen, he was a little surprised. Just the opposite of what was expected. The kitchen is empty. There is no sign of June anywhere inside; But he saw a large carrybag on the sink, with lots of piles of meat inside. A few pieces have been brought out again. The smell of raw blood is wafting! The top of the sink is covered in blood. Arthur sniffed the smell of raw blood and flesh. Where did June go? Moving away from the kitchen door, Arthur began looking for his wife in other parts of the house. Stairs, dining room, living room, study room, conservatory - looked everywhere. But June is missing! Where did June go? Where did he leave the house open? Went to the store or bought something? But so the house will be left open? It's weird! June has never been so careless! Arthur came out. He came to the garage and saw that June's car was in the right place. That is, he did not go anywhere. He came back inside the house. Standing by the stairs, he shouted - "June! ... where are you?"

No, no answer this time.

There is no light in any of the rooms upstairs. Arthur tried to guess something in his mind. Did June go somewhere on foot then? Or ... is she in the bathroom? Maybe he fell asleep in the soapy foam in the bathtub. He saw a switchboard on the wall of the staircase. As soon as the switch was turned on, the whole staircase became illuminated. But the upper floor remained dark. Arthur tried again and again, repeatedly turning off the switches and turning them on again; But not a single light from the upper passageway shone.

'... what happened to the lights! Did it get worse? '

Thinking seven or five, Arthur began to climb the stairs to the upper floor. The first door upstairs is the bathroom. There was no sign of light coming through the floor of the bathroom door. What does that mean? June is not in the bathroom! Arthur came forward and knocked softly on the bathroom door, and would have responded if he had been inside since June. But there was no response. Without getting any response, Arthur entered the bathroom. No, no one seemed to have bathed here in a few hours. Disappointed, he left the bathroom and looked at the other rooms. I didn't see June anywhere, but I also noticed that there was no light in any of the rooms. Are all the switches bad? Is the trip-switch at the bottom of the stairs activated so that the lights are not on in the rooms? Before going downstairs and checking the fuse box, Arthur went into the last room and searched. When the master came and stood in front of the bedroom door, he saw that there was no light in this room like in other rooms. Still, Arthur pushed the door open to see. That's when I realized that the whole circuit above had failed. Arthur did not try to turn on the light by pressing the switch. But a new thing caught his eye for the first time. Noticed with surprise, June stands like a stone statue near the window a little farther away! Standing facing the window!

Arthur could not even imagine his wife standing like a stone in a dark room facing a window alone. He was a little shocked at first. It took him a long time to recover from the initial shock of surprise. He, too, stared at Jun in astonishment. June, however, did not pay any attention to him. He is still staring at the window like a stone statue. It was evening outside. Raising the curtain of the window, the light of the lightpost from outside came through the window and entered the room. And June is standing in the light! Arthur has no intention of entering the house. Absolutely frozen, expressionless look.

To be continued.
