Title: Are men dumb or dumber?

To start off, I have a lot of guy friends but I’m not interested in dating or hooking up with any of them. That being said, sometimes we have really close (read weird) relationships and to a lot of people they don’t get it. Close, as in definitely touchy, I know about all the TMI details and we will share beds or whatever. But to be straight up, they’re like FAMILY.
Enter a new friend who I get to know and we become close fast. He has a gf but she was practically non-existent in our friendship so it didn’t really matter at first. But at one point, he started staying over at my place overnight. Whether drunk or not, we would always end up in my bed cuddling. Now, I would say platonically but can you really count being wrapped around someone and holding them as platonic 🤔. Anyways, I thought, it’s whatever, since I have been kinda like that with my friends before (but maybe not THAT close, read: full on we look like a couple cuddling). A major part of my friendships with other guys is they either aren’t in a relationship or their significant other knows about me and is okay with how close we are. But I found out that he hides a lot about our friendship from his gf and she never knew that he stayed over with me.
I ended up talking to him and he had NO CLUE there was an issue....didn’t think we did anything wrong (even though he still wasn’t planning to tell his gf anything). To be fair, his gf has some jealousy issues so he tries to not tell her some stuff so she won’t have to feel stressed etc. But like this feels like a pretty big fucking thing to be hiding and I know for sure his gf would so not be okay with this. Also, I don’t get why we’re hiding this if we really are just friends. But then again, even I’m getting confused by this level of just friends. What the hell is the thought process here? Are men stupid or just oblivious?
