Real Champions Fight Through Adversity
Life ain't about medals, it's about certificates, it's about houses, money, cars, fame, it's about scars, so when you get judged when everything is said and done with, you won't get judged on your medals. You get judged on your scars. So make sure in life you don't be afraid to get scars.
They show your willingness to get to the other side. They show your failures. They show what you're willing to do to go the distance. You have to use your anger, frustration, and fear to push yourself harder, to say, "I don't stop."
The other side of that extreme place that I call suffering, call whatever you want, there's a whole other world that people have not even examined, but you have to go to that extreme place to examine it. It's like a whole other universe. I tell myself, it's almost like you're an astronaut and you've examined something in outer space every day.
I used to believe that I was the weakest man that God ever created, so now I believe that I'm the hardest human being that God ever made. I don't care whether or not it's true. It's the most important conversation to me. It is what motivates me every day. It's the only thing that gets me through the day. It's that you must constantly be that man that you want to be.
When you don't have a grip on your purpose in life, when life doesn't have that special meaning and power for you, there is insecurity. But once you find your purpose, once you know why you showed up, I believe all of us show up to do something. You showed up to do something. There's something that's going to be done by you and nobody else.
That's what you showed up to do now. Some of us know what our purpose is, and most of us don't consciously, but subconsciously, we know what it is. It's in you. How do birds know how to fly from north to south during the winter when no one ever taught them or told them which way to go?
How did they learn to do that?
We owe it to ourselves to take on anything that causes dis-ease in the body, poverty, opposition, whatever is between that and what we desire and feel will give us a fully enriched life. We should fight for it. You just have to decide that your life is worth this kind of effort and fight with everything that is in your night and day with every breath that you have.
I believe you are a great fighter. We do have our own battles, each battle is unique, and God provides us everything before we face it. He armed us with everything we need whether we might run or face the challenge, It's up to us; it's not even important if we lose or win, or how long the battle will go: what's important is that we fought and made it through.
