Indonesia is in Group A, along with Uzbekistan and two Middle Eastern teams, Iraq and Syria. Indonesia was placed in pot 2, Uzbekistan in pot 1 (seeded/host), Iraq in pot 3, and Syria in pot 4. Indonesia's placement in pot 2 was determined by the results of the 2018 Asian Cup, in which the team reached the quarter-finals.
The match will take place at Milliy Stadium, one of Uzbekistan's grandest venues. This stadium was formerly known as Bunyodkor Stadium because it was the home of FC Bunyodkor. This stadium also serves as the home of the Uzbekistan national team.
Shin Tae Yong's team will begin the fight against Iraq U20 in the U20 Asia Cup. In the second match against Syria and the final match against Uzbekistan, The 1961 Asian Cup was Indonesia's best achievement in the U20 Asian Cup.
