Indonesia has prepared six stadiums to host the U-20 World Cup.

The U20 World Cup will be held in Indonesia next year. This prestigious football event is scheduled to take place from May 20 to June 11, 2023.

The U20 World Cup is a special finals for national football teams comprised of players aged 20 and under. 24 countries competed in this tournament after passing the qualifying round filter in their respective confederations.

Through this tournament, young magical children (wonderkids) are always born who go on to become gridiron superstars. Some of them include Diego Armando Maradona. The 1979 U20 World Cup in Japan gave birth to this great Argentine star. Maradona won the Player of the Year award and was the second most prolific player at the time.

After the FIFA Council meeting in Shanghai, China, on October 24, 2019, Indonesia was chosen to host the 23rd edition of the U-20 World Cup. Indonesia became the second country in Southeast Asia to host this event, following Malaysia in 1997, and the seventh country in Asia overall.

Indonesia was elected and defeated candidates from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Peru, Myanmar, and Thailand.As the host, Indonesia has proposed six stadiums in six cities, which have been approved by FIFA.

According to Presidential Instruction No. 8 of 2020, the six stadiums are as follows:

1. Jakarta's Bung Karno Stadium 

2. Bandung Si Starling Harupat Stadium (West Java)

3.Solo Manahan Stadium is number three (Central Java) 

4.Surabaya's Bung Tomo Stadium (East Java) 

5. Gianyar Wayan Dipta Stadium (Bali) 

6.Palembang Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium  (South Sumatra).
