The first day of Bangla new year is called Pahela Baishakh. In keeping with the age old tradition we celebrate the day with traditional festivities. The day first programme begins at Ramna Batamul organised by Leading cultural organisation Chhayanat. To observe the day rural people arrange traditional games, dramas and cultural functions throughout the country. Shopkeeper open the halkhata and urban people observe it in a befitting manner. Wearing traditional dress they attend the cultural functions arranged by various socio-cultural organisations. People bring out colourful procession carrying festoons, placards, posters, banners and wearing masks. As a special day for the Bangladeshis the significance of the day is very great. It is very colourful day for Bangladeshi people. They enjoy the full day. It is great festive for Bengali people
