What if the folds of the sky crossed, fluttering towards Paradise in a short dream? The search for happiness is the original and only endeavor

"How distressed I find them not realizing the truth, but I know it and how hard it is for you to be alone in knowing the truth on your own. They will not understand that, they will never understand it . "

The dream of a funny man is one of the works of the philosopher-writer Dostoevsky, whose pen is famous for probing the depths of the human psyche, noticing the most subtle symptoms of conflicts and feelings that are shaking it up. The rings of his literary works were published in 1877 AD.

The dilemma of existence and nihilism is manifested in this novel as the reality of the shining sun, and its hero was a man whose letters were poured out between the folds of the lines, and it was not a great matter, as he was close to the heart to the point that making the search for his name meaningless.

Novel summary

His life was closer to nothingness than to existence, so there was no meaning to it, no feeling that touched his heart, and no questions in his mind, and he used to spend his day reading and his night meditating tirelessly, and his life in his eyes fell to the point that made him inclined to nothingness.

He mentioned at the time that in the moment of losing his consciousness, the world will disappear, because if it does not exist then this world for which he was created alone does not exist, but before he implemented his decision, sleep was faster than him, and at that time he fell asleep in its content like an awakening whose hero was a supernatural dream.

A dream in which he crossed the layers of heaven until he reached bliss, and at that time he got acquainted with him and the sons of bliss. Quiet love prevailed towards all creatures, and at that time he felt the reality of existence with a force that makes tears stream down from his eyes, reverence and love, and it was a quick dream and events accelerated in it until bliss turned like the earth, and sins appeared and faded Love and selfishness lit up, and that did not reduce his love at all, but rather was overwhelmed by love for the people of sin, for he knew the truth while they were ignorant of it and he was conscious while they were fleeing from consciousness.

And then that dream ended and its effect on the hero or on the reader himself did not end, and the dream prompted him to take advantage of it in all ways and strive to refer this land to blessing again with hidden strokes of pursuit and summarized in a word with small letters and many meanings and verbs.

Since the first few lines, the writer was able to spread a feeling of strangeness and curiosity in the soul, as I spent my eyes tirelessly searching for the truth with the hero, observing the fluctuations of his feelings from scratch, which through a situation he encountered with a child, one increased through guilt, then pity, and then regret, until he reached a climax. From which his dream exploded with the clear truth, which was simple and complex at the same time, as the simplicity of the sun as a star we see the eye's view, its complexity in its composition, and the fear of approaching it.

The transformations of the human soul appeared from good to evil and its opposite, and I saw feelings that transcend its bearer and others degrade him, while both approach its owner from actions, but the difference between the actions of this and that is very different, and despite the clarity of the soul’s transformations within the context of the novel and the merging of the climax of both contradictory transformations, I wished If the writer eloquently explained it, feeling after feeling and deficiency after deficiency.

Lessons from the novel

This novel contained deep projections of stories that we all know, such as the first sin on earth and the journey of Isra and Mi'raj, and Dostoevsky hid them between his lines, giving hints about each story, and each one of them was described in a way that makes the reader in the scene watch and perhaps imagine himself in the place of the hero during a strange journey that seems closer The truth is for a dream.

And since the highest goal of mankind is happiness, it has been the mirage that chased us all tirelessly, searching for it between people and money and between families and children just as Sisyphus chased the rock as it rolled down the mountain throughout his life and never settled in its place - on the mountain - so happiness chased us and did not settle in Our hearts are only hours.

I also chased happiness in this novel, and at that time I understood that its only place and refuge was the soul, which is the place in which I neglected to search for my happiness, and I neglected to search for it without laws and philosophies that put reasons for him, so what is the benefit of searching for reasons and studying them until indulging in them absent from happiness and which It was my original and only endeavor, and that was one of its keys and part of the truth stated in the iconic novel.
