4 Common moving box packing mistakes:

We provide loading, packing, and moving services. I have well-trained and well-served employees for moving the move me packers and movers in Dubai, one of the best for movers in UAE. You are probably getting ready to fill boxes with household items to take with you to your new place of residence. While packing household items into boxes is a relatively simple process, you can make mistakes in the process that can damage the contents of your boxes.

Read on to learn more about four common mistakes when packing boxes on the go and what you should do instead:

Protecting fragile objects with newsprint:

Many people confuse newsprint with printed newspapers. Newsprint is a cheap type of paper made from wood pulp that is often used to create newspapers but is not yet coated with printing or ink. Newspapers, on the other hand, are coated with the printing and ink used to create them. Although newsprint is an excellent packaging material that can help protect fragile household items from damage in transit, you should avoid using newspaper as a packaging material. The ink from newspaper can reach the items you wrap with paper and possibly stain them.

Neglect packing materials around the house:

Many people fill moving boxes with only towels, flannels, sheets and blankets instead of using these items as packing materials to protect fragile items. Many of these items can protect fragile household items from damage, as can store-bought packing materials and mobile blankets. You can also reduce the number of boxes you need to move if you use these alternative packing materials to protect fragile items in your moving boxes instead of packing these items in their own boxes.

To use household towels to protect fragile items in moving boxes, simply wrap the towels around the fragile items and secure them with tape if necessary. Cover furniture with household blankets the same way you would cover it with moving blankets before loading it on the truck to protect these large items from damage.

Improper use of bubble wrap:

Bubble wrap is a great packing material that can help prevent fragile items from breaking as they move from place to place in moving boxes. However, if used incorrectly, this packaging material can damage some household items. Bubble wrap can leave impressions or marks on glass and artwork that are difficult or impossible to remove. Also, wooden objects should never be packed directly in plastic packaging material, including bubble wrap, because the condensation that forms between the plastic and the wood can damage it.

To avoid both of these problems, before wrapping glass and wooden objects as well as expensive artworks in a layer of bubble wrap, cover them completely with newsprint or other breathable material.

Incorrect choice of packing tape:

Another common mistake made when packing moving boxes is securing boxes with tape or weak tape that should not be used to secure moving boxes. If boxes are not secured with good quality tape, they can tear during the move and the contents can be damaged. Some common household tapes, such as duct tape and masking tape, should never be used to secure boxes during a move. These tapes often do not adhere well to cardboard and are not strong enough to secure the boxes securely.
