Padma Bridge of Bangladesh.

And only 22 days left. The Padma Bridge is going to be launched on June 25. 
The government and the ruling party Awami League are going to organize a colorful program around the inauguration. 
The main arrangement of the government will be on both banks of Padma. 
And this time the Awami League has decided to add the Padma Bridge to their party's founding anniversary program. 
The Awami League  will celebrate the founding anniversary on June 23 and the inauguration of the Padma Bridge simultaneously across the country.

'Padma Multipurpose Bridge' at a Glance

* The full name of the 11th longest bridge in the world is 'Padma Multipurpose Bridge'.

* 917 hectares of land has been acquired for the construction of the bridge

* The construction company of this bridge is China Major Bridge Engineering Construction Company Limited.

* The bridge was designed by the American multinational engineering firm AECOM

* Length of the bridge is 6.15 kilometers (20,2000 feet)

* Width 16.10 meters (59.4 feet)

* Construction work started on December 6, 2014

* Each span is 150 meters long and each span weighs 3,200 tons.

* The height of this state-of-the-art bridge is 60 feet above the water level and its piling depth is 363 feet.

* There will be four lane road on the upper floor of the bridge and railway line on the ground floor
* The connecting road is Jajira and Mawa

* Distance of connecting road is 14 kilometers

* River rule on both banks is 12 km

A construction firm, China Major Bridge Engineering Company Ltd, 
was selected to construct the long aspired bridge on the river Padma. 
The 6.15 km bridge cost an estimated ৳91.72 billion (US$1.1 billion).
This bridge is going to be one of the greatest creation in our country.
