When FOMO hits, we can’t easily shake it off. Just like the night you got bored and all you can do is scroll the social media installed in your phone... you wanted to brush off the feeling of being restless even after doing nothing at home. Suddenly, all you can witness online was the busy life of your friends, going somewhere else, ordering the foods you crave and enjoying their time amid the pandemic. Really, how can they have fun while you have no choice but to slowly go crazy because of boredom?

FOMO. The social anxiety of being left out. Nobody wants to get left behind. We all desire to get along and relate to our friends. But what can you do if you just can’t afford to do the things they do right now?

FOMO is something psychological, something we can all feel at times. It is the worrying feeling over what we see from social media most especially. We feel deprived of happiness. Sometimes, an outcast. Someone who seems pitiful. You become more restless and self-conscious from comparing you do. You overthink the situation and the fear just gets into your head to pull your self-esteem down the drain.

Fearing to miss out on something drives us to desire for it even more. To do it, we compromise. Just like that night when you felt missing out on the fun, you craved for it so you decided to go out regardless of your parent’s rules. Even before the pandemic, FOMO hits hard. When other families travel during the summer, your family cannot afford to do the same. You have no pictures to share. No new adventures to boast. No sunset was taken from the beachfront to post.

From everything that is going on online, you wish to share more stories. Being able to escape from it means you understand that your situation is not always the same for them. It means you understand that sometimes, missing out on something is not your lost but actually a motivation to do better. So in the future, you can explore. Have more adventures outside the four sides of your home. Post picturesque views on your social media accounts. Share embarrassing and amazing moments with your friends.

When you turn your fear into motivation. A driving force. The reason to push you to study and work hard. Earn money to have a better life. Having the determination will not shake off your goals and dreams. When you have less of an experience today, save it for tomorrow.

I can't control my hands not to scroll in social media and the result is anxiety and being angry. Good thing I know this platform and keep my mind busy In writing an Article. That is why I never ever leave like the others after my account was put into spam. Writing is my way of healing. Please do accept this tip of mine it's all I can afford for now☺️

Hoping that this would open our eyes that worrying over something that would only make us despondent is normal but we can do something to overcome it. We can choose to not let this fear mess with our heads and focus on what we have and what we should be grateful for. :>

This is so true. And also the reason why i chose not to be active on any social media accounts. To avoid such unnecessary feelings towards the things i see online. I prefer to spend my time on read.cash or checking the prices on bitcoin.com. lol.
