When your favourite disappointment turns to excitement, the joy can not be hidden. I might be exaggerating, but the thought of it always leaves a smile on my cheek and gladness in my heart.
My favourite soccer club, Arsenal Fc has been brilliant in their last 3 premier league matches winning all three after streaks of disappointing performance.
Arsenal's first 14 matches 2020/21 Premier League Campaign: was it that bad?
Despite winning the FA Cup, the previous was a tough one for Arsenal. And they started poorly in the current season.
As is customary with Arsenal, things have been highly entertaining and a complete mess. And, in the current season, they’ve managed to outdo themselves, starting with an unprecedented level of nonsense. Their performance was disastrous, the team was not clicking with each other and they found it hard to get a goal. After 14 games, they only had 4 wins, 2 draws and 8 losses, their worst start in centuries. Before the first of the three consecutive wins, Arsenal went on a 7 match winless run which left them at the bottom half of the league table.
Arsenal's Premier League Resurgence
After a seven-match winless run in the top flight before Christmas, Arsenal have won three successive Premier League games, after winning just four of their previous 14 in the competition (W4 D2 L8). The Gunners defeated Chelsea 3 - 0 at home, won Brighton 0 - 1 away and claimed a stylish 4-0 win over West Brom. With impressive performances from Kieran Tierney, Smith Rowe, Alexandre Lacazette, and Bukayo Saka. Arsenal scored 8 goals in three matches, a lot more than they registered in their last 7 matches before the resurgence.
The gunners are back in form!
What Next
Arsenal host Newcastle United in the third-round tie of the FA Cup. And the Gunners faithful are hoping to see another brilliant t performance from the team.
Arsenal have found their form and brilliance after they endured a seven-match winless run in the Premier League before defeating Chelsea on Boxing Day which was followed with a victory on the road over Brighton and West Brom. Arsenal can not afford to relax, they need to work harder to maintain this moment in the second half of the league season.
I don't follow football. I know that feeling. My husband follows football. When he watches a game, he jumps, cheers, gets angry ... from disappointment to happiness!
