Success Through Diet Getting It Done

Dieting is all too often approached with the expectation of failure. Too many people have attempted and failed so many diets in the past that they approach the next new diet with the certainty that they will also fail. What's more, guess what? They'll do it.

"If you think you can or think you can't, you will always be right," Henry Ford once said. If you believe you will fail at this diet, you have already set yourself up for failure before you even take the first mouthful. Consider this before you begin, because only a true masochist would enjoy continuing this vicious cycle without ever questioning why none of the prior diets have worked for you. "Failure is merely the opportunity to begin over more intelligently," Henry Ford observed. In case you're curious, I think his statements are extremely meaningful. But, seriously, if you don't explore the causes for your failures, you're almost guaranteed to repeat them, and why would you even attempt if you're already going to fail?

You are the only one who has the power to regulate your hunger. You are the only one who can recognize when you are eating for emotional pleasure versus when you are eating for survival. You and only you have the power to get out of your chair and onto your feet. You are the only one who can be held accountable for the situation in which you find yourself. There are medical exceptions, but if you're attempting diet after diet and failing time after time, you'll eventually understand it's not the diets that aren't working.

We must all take responsibility for our achievements and failings in life. When it comes to dieting, it's no different. There are few pleasures more satisfying than having someone notice and applaud your efforts. Unfortunately, if you are extremely obese, it may take a little longer for people to notice your weight loss. Too many men and women give up because no one notices them, which is a great tragedy. Give your dieting methods a chance to work before declaring them a failure, and you might just surprise yourself with a resounding success.

The reality is that far too few people hold themselves accountable for their weight loss and dieting goals. This implies that far too many people give up without even attempting to make an effort. If you have trouble keeping yourself accountable to your diet goals, you can benefit from dieting with a companion. This not only assists you in setting objectives, but also in meeting and exceeding hurdles along the way. A partner can profit from the collaboration as well, since he or she will be challenged and feel compelled to do better than if they were dieting alone.

In order to see long-term results, you must hold yourself responsible to your stated dieting and weight loss goals. If you haven't had much luck with dieting in the past, it's time to add some accountability into the picture and make it happen.
