It was two years ago since the paths of Nica and Nathan were crossed. The girl also didn't know why, Nathan meet her for that long.
"What went into your mind and you really did call me?"said Nica and gently adjusts her seat.
"What happened to no strings attached after our break up?"the girl added.
A deep sigh was released by Nathan before he turned his gaze on Nica. From his desk he released a folder containing a confidential document.
"Look, Nica. If my purpose wasn't just important, I wouldn't have to mess with you anymore. I'm a changed man and the reason why I asked you to meet me is because of a person I'm current working with."
Nathan gently gave such an envelop to Nica that the girl had immediately accepted. A glance was given to the young man before such a document was published and the contents were read.
"I need you to pretend as Mr. Chua's wife who happens to be my sister, Lily—"
"Are you crazy?! And why would I do that thing? Knowing that after the previous accident, I swore I would never fool people again!"Nica's tough language that kept the young man silent.
"Nica, we're desperate. I just have to convince Lucky to sign their annulment papers by Lily so he can live his life in peace while I'm still searching for my sister—"
"I'm done fooling people, Nathan! And it's not my fault that your sister is crazy , okay? If this is why you meet me, I'm sorry but I have to go."
Nica quickly stood out from the couch of Nathan's small office toward the door. She was about to open the door when the young man spoke again.
"I have my reasons why you think you fit this job, Nica. You're good at impersonating and fooling people that's why I am asking you to consider my proposal," Nathan said.
Nica hold on the doorknob gradually tightened. She couldn't even imagine if she could feel an insult. Whether in the real purpose of het former novelist Nathan or the fact that whatever she does is true she cannot deny her dark past.
"Nica, I am begging you. This will be the last time I'll bother you and of course, you'll be guaranteed a large sum of money for what you will do—"
Nathan was taken back for Nica suddenly faced him. The whole body of the girl began to cold but she insisted on preventing the gust of her annoyance. She was indeed offended but because of her previous relationship with Nathan she was able to calm herself down.
"Let me see him first before I finally agree to what you want," Nica's poor response.
A glimmer of hope in Nathan's face as he walked towards Nica and embraced her in a hug.
"Thank you, Nics."
A week passed and the appointed day of Lucky and Nica's confrontation. Nathan and Nica walked together into Lucky's private villa. Nica wears her red dress allegedly one of Lily's favorite clothes - Lucky's legal wife.
"Just remember the things I told you about Lily, okay? Don't let Lucky know you because a single mistake can ruin everything—"
"Why don't you just look for your filthy sister than reminding me?! It's annoying! It's still my fault when we get caught?, "Nica said.
He even glared Nica before walking into Lucky's room. But before she open the door it opens.
"Lily?!"Lucky said to Nica.
"I'm not—"
Nica was unable to finish what she had to say because Nathan immediately ran a distance from the two and from that he decided to intervene.
"M-Mr. Chua! After a long search, I finally found your wife. Lily, why don't you talk to your husband?"
Lucky's eyes were slightly inflated because of Nathan's favor. Again it turned to look at Nica but instead of the wide smile it gave it a knelt forehead.
"I will be outside for you to talk," said Nathan who had made Nica's signal for annulment papers.
After closing the door, Lucky grabbed Nica's hand violently and pulled her closer to him. The girl's eyes grew on what the young man did.
"Ouch! It hurts me!"
Nica struggled hard but Lucky remained tight. Nica quickly stared into the deep eyes of the young man who had caused her in pain.
"You really have the courage to face me after you run away?!"Lucky's angry gut.
"Time he opened the subject about Lily's escape, just answer him that you wanted an annulment... Just act as if you're Lily. He would not know the difference since he can no longer recognize faces."
It seemed a broken plaque in Nica's mind that Nathan had reminded her before they confronted Lucky. She took a deep breath that the young man could see.
"I... want an annulment!"
Lucky was slightly stunned by what Nica said but his strong expression did not change. He was even more cluttered in the girl's hand.
"You're going to pay the price for running away and making a fool out of me!"
Nica couldn't answer because after Lucky's favor he quickly pulled her out and kissed her.
