There is a debate among the community in which the use of renewable energy sources for mining Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies is proposed, since this activity demands more and more resources now that the difficulty of mining these cryptocurrencies increases.
Recently Elon Musk said that he would no longer receive Bitcoin as a means of payment for the acquisition of Tesla vehicles. Since he considers that part of the energy that miners use to obtain Bitcoin, comes from fossil fuels. Here we can ask ourselves this question: Why didn't Elon think about this before? What could be behind this sudden announcement?
Considering the geography and different climatic conditions with which each country has, this could help to better plan the places to create mining plants according to the energy requirements that they may need.
Some examples that we can mention:
Some Arab and African countries have areas where temperatures are extremely high, and this is where solar energy would be our best ally for the use of this energy source in cryptocurrency mining. It should also be allude that in some of these countries wind energy is another excellent source of renewable energy with great potential.
Countries that have a large number of rivers with which energy from water-driven turbines or the construction of small dams could help take advantage of this renewable energy source. Many people may think that projects like these can be very expensive, but if they think in the future about the benefits, they can have for the environment. The little or almost nothing in the use of fossil fuels, and the profits that will be obtained with the cryptocurrencies (as they increase in value over time) this can be a very profitable investment.
These points can help us understand how renewable energies and miners can work together to help prevent pollution rates on the planet from continuing to increase. Having said all this, it would only be necessary for the governments of countries with these climatic conditions to allow these projects to be take place.
You can answer in the comments: Do you think that this type of project can have a future when the benefits for both parties are more?
