"From dependence to independence: how rural communities can take charge of their economy".
At present, no developed or underdeveloped state can guarantee the future of the entire population in its territory, in most cases, government policies only make poverty increase in their society, and in this last decade, people see how their rights and benefits are being lost over time, this makes people have to take the initiative to get ahead as they can.
During the pandemic, many people lost their jobs and others struggled to receive medical care. In Latin American countries, people had to take the initiative to become entrepreneurs because of the scarcity of jobs in their countries.
This is where it is necessary to think about how small population centers can organize themselves in order to obtain resources or manage the resources they already have, so that all people can benefit and have the minimum services to have a decent quality of life.
Since they are the ones who know their needs according to the geographical location and topography of the area. Also how the most advanced technology can be used to optimize the use of renewable energies. This would allow to increase the use of these resources that can be found nearby, to meet the energy, water and other needs that allow them to be more independent of centralized services.
On the economic side, people can take advantage in their communities to elaborate development plans according to their location and land for agricultural, livestock, tourism and exploitation of renewable energy sources, as this could in the case of electricity, sell the surplus that the community does not need to the electric company and thus be able to obtain additional resources.
In my opinion, I believe that people will live better in smaller communities which have the necessary technological and infrastructure development for renewable energy, along with the exploitation of nearby land for agricultural development, provided that the necessary conditions are in place.
