One Piece is one of my favorite anime, it's, Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda. It has been serialized in Shueisha's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump since July 1997, with its individual chapters compiled into 99 tankōbon volumes as of June 2021.
He was inspired to become pirate by Shanks, currently he is one of the Yonko or Emperor of the sea. Shanks meet the child Luffy in Foosha Village, part of the Goa Kingdom. It's Luffy birthplace.
Monkey D. Luffy dreams not only to become great pirate but also to become Pirate King. Shanks promised Luffy before he leaves to the village that they will meet again when Luffy become a great pirate and gather own crew and surpassed the Red-haired Pirates.
Shanks gave his strawhat to Luffy as a promised, and he will return it to the right time when they meet in the New World.
Luffy ability is amazing, he is a rubber man. He ate the Devil fruit Gumo-gumo no mi or Gum gum fruit. In exchange to his ability, he became a hammer in the sea, which means he can't able to swim like a hammer.
He trained himself to become strong and able to surpassed the strong people. Garp leaves Dadan to take care of Luffy in the mountain. Garp is his grandfather and vice-admiral of the marine.
Luffy grown without his real family but he don't care about it and he never ask who is his real parents.
Luffy have two brothers after they drunk the cup of sake. They are Sabo and Ace who also wanted to become a pirate and always seeking of adventure and also a troublemaker.
Goa Kingdom faced the discrimination which is made Sabo to feel suffocated to his own kingdom. He is one of the noble. After he hear that the noble wanted to burned the Grey Terminal, it was burned his heart even he wanted to help the people who live there, he don't have enough power to stop it because he still a child.
After those incident, he leaves his house and started his first journey and become free as a pirate. Unfortunately, he was died, after the one of the Celestial Dragon who ride at the big shape fired a cannon to his little boat.
Luffy and Ace heard this incident and they don't want to believe even it's true. They cried a lot and they promised to continued there dreams to sail in the sea and gathered own crew.
Ace was the first who sail in the sea to become a real pirate when turn to 17 years old.
After Ace started his life as a pirate, Luffy continue his training. He trained himself to become strong. When he became 17 years old, he started to pursue his dreams to become a Pirate King.
