The opera Carmen is one of the worlds most popular operas. It was first performed at the Opera-Comique in Paris in France on March,3,1875. The opera was in four acts in music written by the french composer Georges Bizet. The libretto written by Henri Meilhac and Ludovic Havely was based on a novel of the same title by Prosper Merimee.
