Virtual Halloween party: is it possible?

Good day though it's kinda gloomy here on my side. How's everyone? The weekend is here, do you have any plans? I hope you spend it meaningfully but also give yourself a rest.

The end of October is what most of the children is waiting for. Why? Because they are excited to wear their Halloween costume and some are just doing some makeover, a creepy one. They will be going to houses or stores and are you familiar with what words they will say?

"Trick or Treat (Happy Halloween!)"

This is the famous line that children say during that moment. People give them candies, sweets or money that will be inserted into their pumpkin containers.

When I was a kid, I want to have that kind of container every Halloween but I don't have any money to buy one. I envy those kids that had pumpkin containers. The candies that I got was put in a plastic bag. But still, my Halloween was enjoyable.

Before the pandemic, kids here used to go to my house then ask me to makeover them, they want to be scary hehe. I'm not good at doing makeup but I granted their request and I'm not going to beautify them anyway, I need to make them look scary haha.

So this is all I can do. Apologise if it doesn't meet your standard hehe I'm not a professional and I don't have any talent in make-up. However, they like their look and said thanks to me. After they went and had trick or treat, they gave me candies hehe.

So last October 28, we had a virtual Halloween party on one of our subjects. This prof of mine came up with this great idea. At first, my classmates and I thought that it is hard to do and it might not become successful because we are in an online class and is that even possible? Well, honestly we enjoyed it. I will be going to share with you how it goes last night.

Let's get a party!

This is the invitation made by our president. When he sends it in our group chat our professor likes it. And says that it looks like we take it seriously since they exert effort in making this invitation.

As mentioned there, we will be going to have a game and report but the games consumed our allotted time to that subject so we will have our lesson next week. And our professor let us finish the event.

Each group needs to have one representative and that representative will be going to wear a Halloween costume and project their chosen character during the said time.

Then the program begins.

Each group introduced their representatives:

First group - the penny-wise

I love its introduction and I had goosebumps while watching her mimicking the voice of penny-wise. She also receives praises saying she's good.

Second - the wicked witch

Who wants to buy a love potion? She can do it as she says. The beautiful witch of our classroom represents the wicked witch who always loves to laugh harder.

Third - A.K.A Ariana Grande

Not a scary look tho but love her makeup and her ponytail. Really looks like Ariana Grande.

Fourth - two-faced ghost

Their introduction was a blast. They have an effect, her lights in her room turn off and on, whenever the light turns on she changed her position. Creepy vibes indeed!

Fourth - Queen of Heart

This is our group's representative. At first, we are problematic about who will be going to be our representatives since all of us are busy. Three of us are working, I have my baby to feed then one is in the province who has a slow Internet connection. Fortunately, this good member of ours volunteered herself and just ask for a favor from us to suggest and this is what we know is easy to do.

Fifth - the black lady

This group also have a good introduction, well all of the group did but their group has a story that they shared with us while she is on the screen.

Sixth - the other witch (2)

Compared to the first one, this witch is way more creepy. Love the make-up of it, wicked indeed.

Seventh - the goddess (dyosa)

She nailed it. I love her makeup and I envy her for being good at beautifying herself hehe.LOL! Our class president joke that he is no longer the goddess in our room and that she replaced him.

Last group - zombie school girl

This one is 10/10 for their effort. Look, she careers it even put a contact lens. And her look isn't it scary? It looks like she is one of the characters in the horror movie. Kudos to her effort. Amazing!

Our prof gives us plus 1 in our grade then plus 3 and 5 for the winner that she choose who wears and portray the best.

We also played a game.

First game - the monster is hungry

It's like a bring me game where the host will say a thing that you need to find and show that to the class. You should be fast in finding what's the host will be given.

Second game - Pinoy henyo

In this game, each group will have two representatives that will be going to play. The host gives a word and one will guess the word and the other one will answer yes, no or possible only until they guess the word in two minutes.

Third game - word hunt

In this game, the host will give a word then each letter of the word, you need to find things that start with that letter. For example RAT : R- ug A- lcohol T-shirt.

We also have online bingo, where there is a statement and we need to mark the box that applies to us. Then make it our story, those who qualified will have a chance to win cash through spin the wheel. My luck I think end already hehe.

Closing thoughts:

It is possible and we enjoyed it. One thing that is important to make it possible, cooperation. We won't able to make it if other didn't participate. Even though there's a pandemic, we shouldn't let it hinder us from making the things we used to do before. This is also made by our professor for our mental health, she said we shouldn't stress ourselves in our studies. Sometimes all we need is some refreshment to forget about the things that make us stressed.

Our professor loves our performance and the party also, she even shows us her look wearing scary stuff.
