Do the right thing even if no one is looking. That is integrity. Though we know something about it, some of us doesn't really value its true meaning. And there are those who ignore its worth.
Integrity is a very special word. It is not something you show to others. It is how you behave behind their back. If you belong to a group of friends or colleagues, you share the same spot. You go to different places together, or do activities together. Your friendship through the years stays the same. The same goes for your family. But when something bad happens, or when you get in trouble, this is compromised. When a misunderstanding arises between you and your friends, the integrity we have should still matter. As friends, we should not sacrifice our friendship just to show your good image. If you know what is the truth, tell them. Because for me, it is important that I'd rather be honest than being impressive.
With integrity, you have nothing to fear, since you have nothing to hide. Being honest is a virtue. If you tell the truth in any situations that entails you to do it, you will have peace of mind. You can work harmoniously with other people, be it at home, at school or at work. With integrity, you will do the right thing, so you will have no guilt. Integrity is the most valuable and respected quality of a person, especially in leadership. So remember, keep your word.
