The recent crisis, deeply wounded the lives of many. Hundreds have died, a drastic change happening worldwide. As these phenomenon is occurring in critical state.

In Ph, CHED have raised a mandate of opening the classes on August. Are we all ready ? What possibly may happen? Should they continue to open the classes even a global crisis are happening?

According to the Philippines beloved President Duterte, unless a coronavirus vaccine was available, he would not allow children to physically attend classes. In his statement, I could also say that we are not ready yet for the opening of face to face classes as this pandemic arises. But, the higher authority could possibly provide learning opportunities. Just like online learning and other media without necessarily requiring students to go to school. However, this learning opportunity may not be suitable for every situation other students are in. For example, some students do not have internet connection or tools to quickly communicate with their teachers and classmates.

On the other side, numerous consequences may happen if classes will be reopen in the middle of this pandemic, even if it is virtual or not. An example is on financial crisis and many are unemployed. So, a lot of us cannot afford what we want but instead we buy what we need to survive. If face to face classes start as early this year without the developed vaccine to fight the virus, it would be catastrophic. It would also worsen the condition of the confirmed cases worldwide. Which is according to World Health Organization (WHO), the recent statistics and coronavirus number of confirmed cases are 4,815,234.

School resumption this incoming August have both pros and cons. For example, students need education but it is really difficult for both students and parents given the continued spike in the daily COVID-19 cases. It does not guarantee the safety of all. It is true that other problems could occur if unplanned change be execute. The first and foremost concern must be health and safety of all. Good thing that according to CHED, they have released an advisory that recommends state university colleges to implement necessary guidelines to promote the health of the students and their safety once the classes start.

In conclusion, considering the health threat that COVID-19 is confronting us, a virus which could wipe out humans. I can say that I strongly agree with Pres. Duterte rejecting the opening of classes on August. Reopening only beyond the said month, allowing classes to resume if a vaccine against COVID-19 is created. Bad consequences may happen if physical classes and vice versa will be reopen in the middle of this crisis. It is difficult to students and parents due to problems and it does not guarantee safety. Aside from these I have come to realize a deep sense of gratitude of the efforts to after academic during pandemic.
