This forms a rudimentary, uncomfortable to wear, and pretty ineffective diaphgram filled with acidic juices that may contribute to act as spermicide. I would not bet on its reliability, I would feel much more at ease with a real diaphgram filled with real spermicide cream, but it was one of the methods allegedly used by Cleopatra to avoid pregnancies. Cleopatra had five children… It must not have worked a treat.
