Had a walk along the street of San Juan, La Union Philippines to have a view of the wonderful lightings at the town plaza. Chanced upon a passenger jeepney, the reliable mode of transportation of major thoroughfares of the Philippines.

BAYANIHAN SPIRIT Fishermen helped each other bring their respective boats to the sea. Photograph taken at Sitio Paratong, Poblacion, Bacnotan, La Union, Philippines.
Spending twilight at Puerto de San Juan Resort. Walked along the beach, listen to music, savor delicious food and chat with family.
Newly constructed road connecting the Municipality of San Juan and City of San Fernando, La Union, Philippines. This newly constructed road was built to ease up the burden of commuters who ply the usual traffic jammed segment of Maharlika Highway in the region. Hopefully in this coming national elections will produce future leaders and/or public servants that will maintain such undertaking made by their predecessors and will also provide much needed roads and bridges for the…
A fishing boat just arrived! After about 20 minutes of waiting, I sighted a boat going towards the beach after an early morning fishing activity offshore. The wait is somewhat too long perhaps due to the rough waters and there are still many fishing boats that are either docked or going to the sea.
SIMPLY MORINGA! My first bowl of stewed moringa for this year. My wife added some eggplant and squash and topped it with fried tuna for a very savory lunch. The hint of natural sourness in its broth is so irresistible!
Cloudy afternoon at the Capitol Heights of La Union, Philippines.
PALABOK This Filipino rice noodle dish is made of bits of smoked fish, ground meat and usually goes with a brightly colored sauce that is composed of shrimp stock and annatto seeds extracts for the natural coloring.

A cloudy sky usually creates beautiful sunsets. So splendid that I did not noticed that I watched it until the surroundings gets dark. I almost lost on my way home!🥴🤪
WHAT A BRUNCH!🤗 This cool weather finally helped me to wake up late on my day-off and as a treat to myself, I went to my favorite fast food chain to have this juicylicious crispylicious fried chicken.
Walk along the meadow and this red flower ragleaf weed caught my attention. A friend told me before that the parts of this plant can be eaten as vegetable.
SUMMER IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER! Melons ( both cantaloupes and watermelons) are becoming the "in" thing when it comes to seasonal fruits that are being sold in the market upon the start of summer season. But in tropical countries like the Philippines, it is actually dry season that is about to start, that is cool dry season in the months of January until March then hot dry season from April to June.
Stewed vegetables with a twist! I usually add grilled and/or fried fish as toppings on stewed vegetables but since I don't have time to go buy some, I added a sliced egg and the result is awesome!🤗
CLOUDY AND CLEAR?! Quite confusing, isn't it? Well, that was taken on a bridge. When I look at the southern side of the bridge, I can see a cloudy landscape while in the other side, the sky is clear. Thank you to my 501 subscribers!🤗
Had a bowl of beef ramen at another food outlet named Ayuyang, literally translated in English as hang out and I got extra service from the crew by adding more broth when he learned that I need to increase my fluid intake to undergo urinalysis for my anual medical checkup. When I am about to leave, I requested an extra water to fill up my PET bottle.
Foggy morning at the coastline of Bacnotan, La Union, Philippines. Went here early in the morning supposedly to wait for docking fishing boats didn't arrived at the usual time.
Beautiful sunset at the surfing site. Got the opportunity to visit this place once again and I didn't waste time to watch the golden hour.
NILAGANG KALABAW (Carabeef soup with vegetables) Again, I wasn't able to catch up with the fishermen at the fishport so I ended up to the market and look for other healthier stuff for viand for the whole day meal. Yes, we just sometimes reheat our viand so that we have something to eat until dinner and to save time, firewood, and money as well.
Started the day with a walk going uphill for my daily grind and I am halfway near the two most elevated portion of the mountain. I might as well take some photographs along these highest peak later. Have to resume the walk, guys. Will catch up later. Good day to everyone!🤗
Hello, noisemates! While waiting for my urinalysis result, I went to the nearby park to have some breath of fresh air and something caught my attention... It's a yellow flamboyant flower and it's my first time seeing this kind of flowers up close and personal. Fortunately, some flowers is within my reach and this content came into making. Good day to all and God bless!🤗
PANCIT MIKI Instead of having meat as add-ons, I request my wife to buy cloud-ear fungus for a change in the usual pansit menu. Will also add some tofu next time. Pancit miki by the way, are thick noodles made from eggs.
Partly cloudy weather. Remember my first post with the view of the river and mountains? If yes, this is the present view from the other side of the mountain with clear sky and at this time, white clouds can be seen at the horizon. This is one of the places that I like to take photographs because there are no eyesores here that can ruin my shot. See, there is no dangling electrical cables, and the street lighting posts are properly aligned with each other plus the landscape…
Good evening, fellow noisers! Got this photograph as I arrived in my workplace and I missed the setting sun. Kinda late in packing up my things as I am still adjusting to work in an evening shift but it's alright because it's harder to wake up early in the morning to work on day shift. 🤗
FRIED FISH & STEWED SQUASH FLOWERS FOR BREAKFAST Bought scad fish, known as "bulilit" to Ilocanos and "galunggong" to Tagalogs for frying and some squash flowers for vegetable soup or what we call in Ilocano as "inabraw " perfect combination isn't it?
Noontime partly cloudy weather and there are times it's gloomy. Good thing is that I'm on nightshift or else I will be yawning at my workplace most of the time! This cool weather can make me sleepy. 😴💤
FISH SINIGANG I woke up suddenly because of a dream. It says that I caught a fish but the fishing line unexpectedly broke and I was not able to get the fish! Then that's the time that I roused from sleep because I thought that it's real. Just like my past experience many years ago when I am fishing along a harbor and also encountered such circumstances happened in my dream when the fishing line is no match for the size of the fish being caught. As I wake up, my stomach…
STREAK OF LUCK Was able to catch up the setting sun as I walk on my way to our briefing venue before we assume work and it's timely that I passed by on a desiduous tree that shedded it's leaves in order to have new foliage.
Another partly cloudy weather and it's getting hot at 27°C as the sun goes higher at the blue sky filled with cottony white clouds. The cool early morning mist is gone and dryness is becoming evident as shown by the ground that becomes dusty while the grasses are turning to become brown from green and some of the trees started to shed their leaves to welcome another cycle of life.
Wasn't able to photograph the setting sun this evening due to cloudy skies that shrouded the horizon into shades of gray. Though it's not windy, the present weather tonight started to become cooler and it registered in my phone to be at 27°C.
PARTLY CLOUDY SUNSET Was able to catch up with the setting sun yesterday and I am fortunate that though there are gray clouds all over the horizon, the sun remains to be visible to show the beauty of the golden hour before it finally set in. That's all for now, fellow noisers, as I will be going back to my work and its cold in here at 24°C. Happy weekend ahead!🤗♥️👍
It's officially a sunny weather! Though there are presence of clouds in the sky this morning, the sun remained to be dominant which in turn drew a flock of surfers to visit this place. The beach starts to get warmer at 25°C.
Hot 28 °C partly cloudy afternoon weather here at La Union, Philippines. Today is Sunday and I revved up my ride to go out of town until I reached the city. Then immediately returned to my place of origin to have some rest so that I have enough energy for work tonight.
I doubt this time that it is partly cloudy because there are only few clouds that are visible in the sky to make things more absurd, my phone says that it's 27°C though I feel that it's getting colder. Do you also encounter such "erratic" weather forecast from your phone?
Good morning, fellow noisers! Another Monday morning had come and we have to start the day with a prayer and a positive mindset before we go to work. It's a sunny 24°C here and it is expected to get warmer before noontime until the afternoon. Photograph taken before sunrise as I about to end my night duty.
Hot sunny 28°C afternoon weather. Took my wife for a ride at my highschool alma mater, Stella Maris Academy at Quirino, Bacnotan, La Union, Philippines to get the report card of our youngest daughter. Though I am about to get some sleep, I offered my wife a ride to go to the school to avoid the discomfort brought by the heat as she walk along the way.
Good morning, fellow noisers! Have myself to eat some power meal upon arrival from home as I will be attending a seminar soon. Come on, let's eat!🤗
This is how the sunset looks this evening and the weather gets cooler at 27°C from partly cloudy to the present mostly clear sky. The cool evening breeze is now being felt and the chirping of crickets can be heard at the surroundings.
FRIED TOFU & FRIED PORK... Heaven and hell! Got these stuff for lunch because I am on the go today as my seminar will resume after a few minutes.
Gloomy partly cloudy afternoon weather at 29°C. Took this on my way to the seminar. This time the sun was shrouded by clouds and I am not sure if sunset will be visible this evening.
Mostly cloudy weather this time and it's 28°C. Was fortunate enough to see the sunset even if the sky is cloudy. It's fascinating to look at the setting sun against the silhouette of trees.
SNACK, BREAKFAST OR DESSERT? Whatever how you call it, it doesn't matter to me. What is more important to me right now is I have to fill my stomach to stop it from grumbling.
Still mostly cloudy weather and it's getting hot at 29°C. For those who plan to spend their time outdoors, bring a drinking water with you to keep yourselves rehydrated.
THE HIDING CRAB Just happened that my wife brought home sea crabs and boiled corn on the cob after she went along the street to wait for food peddlers. An idea came up from my mind, that what if I have a taste of crab and corn soup which my father cooked when I was a child? So here it is, my cravings was satisfied and actually it's not a whole crab that I put in the soup, just the pincers!🤗
Took a stop for a while to view the setting sun. This place used to be a nice vantage point for sunset viewing because of the trees that shed their leaves from January to March. At present it is now being developed into a residential area. It's another mostly cloudy weather this evening at 27°C and become cooler at night time until early morning.
Just flexing my wife's home-cooked moringa topped with samaral fish (locally known as Malaga in Filipino dialect). This was my viand before I went to work this evening and it is a very satisfying meal for me as I always crave for soups each time I work for the evening shifts.
The sun was again shrouded by the clouds and darkness slowly creeps to the surroundings so early. There's no wind today and the horizon is covered by overcast. At present it is 27°C and hopefully there will be no rain until morning.
Partly cloudy hot 29°C #CATurday. It indeed rained last night. It's the first thunderstorm that occured in my locality for the year 2022. Usually thunderstorms happened on the months of June until November and it's rarely to happened in January. Might be this was triggered by a low pressure area that exits within Philippine Area of Responsibility. At present, the sun is shining amidst the clouds. Happy #CATurday, fellow noisers!🤗♥️👍
Afternoon brunch or early dinner? Have to eat so early so that I have enough time sorting out the flesh from the shell of these sea crabs. How I wish that I have some corn so that I can make another crab and corn soup.
It's again partly cloudy and the temperature is nailed to 27°C. Sometimes there are slight to moderate cool winds along the coastal area and on the mountain side.
It's raining early in the morning at the coastal border between the towns of Balaoan and Bacnotan, La Union, Philippines. This is the second time that it rained heavily for this year fortunately there is no thunderstorm this time. By the way, the temperature reading right now is at 25°C with slight to moderate winds. Good morning and/or evening to all!🤗
My comfort food in this cold rainy day... Chicken soup with vermicelli noodles spiced with lemon grass and ginger.
Windy partly cloudy weather hoisted at 26°C. Moderate to strong cool winds caused by the frontal system is in effect at the coastal areas of Balaoan and Bacnotan, La Union, Philippines. Looking forward that there will be no thunderstorm.
A warm 26°C sunny weather this morning at Cabanaroan Beach, Quirino, Bacnotan, La Union, Philippines. Presently the surfing area is occupied by fishermen who prospects for milkfishes that escaped fishpens and fishponds when the neighboring rivers suddenly overflowed during a heavy rainfall. If you happen to be in this beach and intent to surf, please bear with the fishermen's presence as this is the only time for then to earn something bigger.
BOILED CASSAVA Simple snack for a simple man. I saw an ad from a friend that she sells freshly harvested cassava. Since I knew her as being true to her posts, I messaged her right away to inquire if there still available. When I learned that only a few were left, I hurriedly rushed to their house and got this stuff!
JACK FRUIT DINAKDAKAN Went to a village carinderia (food stall) and this menu caught my attention. At first, I thought that it's an unripe jackfruit cooked with coconut milk, the seller told me that it is indeed a jackfruit but cooked in a different way that the cooking method is usually applied for a pig's parts like ears, liver and face. Since the menu is new to me and I am curious of how it tastes, I bought one order and it's tastes very good! This menu is a better…
Back to the surfing site here at Cabanaroan Beach, Quirino, Bacnotan, La Union, Philippines on this cold 24°C mostly clear morning. Still, there are fishermen who ventures to catch milkfish and found a guy holding a lobed river mullet locally known here in the Philippines as "ludong" and/or "purong."
