ADB is forecasting 7.5% growth in Bangladesh next year
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) estimates that Bangladesh's gross domestic product could grow 4.5 percent this year and 7.5 percent next year amid the coronavirus crisis.
Their report, released on Thursday, told the Asian Development Outlook that Bangladesh's economy could recover in 2021.
The ADB report also found that the global coronavirus epidemic and its outbreak in Bangladesh had severely damaged economic activity in the last quarter of the current fiscal year.
Achieving 7.15 percent GDP growth in the 2018-19 fiscal year, Bangladesh had set a growth target of 7.2 percent for the current fiscal year as well. But the two-month lockdown between the epidemic and the stagnation of world markets took a big hit
