558 crore project for haor dwellers
The government has approved a project to provide safe water and sanitation to the people of the haor area through sustainable technology.
The project titled 'Development of Sustainable Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene System in Haor Region' will be implemented at a cost of Taka 558.61 crore.
The project was approved at the ECNEC meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday.
The Prime Minister joined the meeting through video conference from Ganobhaban. He was accompanied by Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal and Planning Minister MA Mannan.
Other concerned ministers and secretaries attended the meeting from the NEC conference room in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.
