Humans selfishness at it's highest
I have always believed marriage is not something anyone should be pushed into for any reason whatsoever. Many might disagree however, I do hope you see things from my point of view soon.
So we all have our lives to live as we please as long as doing so does not deprive someone else of this beautiful gift. I always wonder why someone who enjoys the above stated privilege would want to dictate how another person's life should go. That's selfishness in it's highest order. I know one could argue that babies or infants can't think for themselves, well that's true but how about when they become old enough to make their own choices? Personally, I believe all we can do is explain the consequences of actions to people the best way we can and not trying to control how they live their lives! If you can't live your dreams the way you want, it's no reason enough to force it on someone else. Life is quite simple but we humans just subconsciously love complications.
Now back to marriage in specific, you would agree with me that the rate of divorces and domestic violence is way off the chart compared to generations past. I dare say that more than 60% of this unfortunate outcome is an attribute of being pushed into marriages against one's wish. How exactly do you expect one to live the rest of their lives caged in absolute emotional dissatisfaction? Let stop here while you give it a thought.
Stay blessed
This happens in the Filipino culture. Grannies and relatives are usually the ones asking about marriages. But for me, people just lack a sense of thinking of the future. They would just think that it's a pity for someone to stay single for the rest of their lives.
