A lecturer in a government college will get four increments if he gets a degree like MPhil-PhD. This was a guideline on the 2008 pay scale. According to the pay scale, for the same degree, 3 assistant professors, 2 associate professors and professors get an increment. This facility has been removed in the 2015 pay scale.

It is learned that not only government but also private colleges have MPA enrollment in the 2010 policy. But this provision has been removed in the policy of 2017. As a result, teachers have lost interest in research and the creation of new knowledge. These teachers are taking care of taking classes and taking exams. There is also a lack of incentives for higher education and training for secondary and primary level teachers. In such a situation, World Teachers' Day has returned today. In Bangladesh as in other countries, teachers are celebrating the day through various programs. However, there is no official program.

Academician Professor. Syed Manjurul Islam told Jugantar that one can easily guess by looking at the little day rather than looking at the teacher's motivation and opportunities to understand how the teachers are. Although the day is celebrated all over the world today, there is no official program in Bangladesh. "We want to reach middle-income and high-income countries," he said. The time has been announced for this. The United Nations has called for the implementation of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) to take the world forward by 2030. We agree with that too. But the main way to achieve these goals is the development of manpower in education. But if there is no program to bring the teacher forward, then there will be a group of workers to go to class with chalk-duster and return home after class, not teachers.

It is known that there is inequality between teachers and non-teachers in terms of access to higher education and financial benefits for it. In particular, there is a lack of incentives and financial benefits for teachers for this degree. This facility is being taken away day by day. Prime Minister's Fellowship is given for higher research. But the government bureaucrats get the lion's share of it. Teachers, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) get very little. There is also a system of higher education under the Ministry of Public Administration. There is also the predominance of bureaucrats.

Professor IK Selim Ullah Khandaker, former president of BCS General Education Association and principal of Kabi Nazrul Government College, told Jugantar that till 2015, there was a tendency among teachers to pursue higher degrees like MPhil-PhD. But at present increment is not being given against this degree. On the other hand, teachers need to take this degree more. But the opportunities for teachers to get higher degrees through the Ministry of Public Administration are very limited. However, for those who only need a diploma or professional degree in the relevant field, there are more opportunities. In all these, the interest of the teachers is showing some decline. Many also have a bad mind. In this situation, only those who have infinite interest in knowledge are currently admitted in different universities of the country for this degree.

It is known that there are many deprivations in the field of incentives. Financial benefits are given to the teachers in the university for supervising the MPhil-degree only nominally. There are no special arrangements for them to pursue higher degrees abroad. They collect it on individual initiative. However, UGC spends a small amount of money in this sector every year. But after getting the degree, there is no special incentive system for it. Previous increments or financial benefits in public-private colleges have been canceled. There is no provision for such degree in high school and primary school. However, joining a private high school with a BEd degree is a step forward in the salary scale. Such teachers get salary in 10th grade. If not, you have to join 11th grade. And if you do BEd within 5 years of joining, you are paid one grade ahead. But no benefits are offered for M.A.D. degree. As a result, no one else is interested in doing this degree. One and a half year term DPED (Diploma in Primary Education) training is compulsory in primary schools. However, if he did not get this degree, he would have been paid in the 15th grade of the national salary scale. And acquire DPED
