There is no substitute for a balanced diet for the physical and mental development of the child. Breast milk is the ideal food for a baby after birth. However, after the age of six months, it is important to gradually accustom him to normal food. However, it is important to remember that certain foods should be avoided in the first year of life. There are many foods that can have a negative effect on the baby's body. E.g.

Honey: Honey contains a type of molecule called Clostridium botulinum, which when consumed by children weakens the immune system. This can lead to constipation and bacterial infections in the baby. It is very common in children under one year of age. For this reason, do not feed honey to children of this age.

Cow's milk: Studies have shown that feeding children cow's milk has the opposite effect on their health. Low iron content in cow's milk can lead to iron deficiency in children. Also, the calcium and casein present in cow's milk stops the absorption of dietary non-frozen iron.

Fruit juice: According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), it is not advisable to feed fruit juice to infants as young as six months. Because juice does not provide any nutrition to babies in the first year.

Chocolate: It is better not to give chocolate to children in the first year. Because it contains milk solids, it can cause allergies. Also any dairy food should not be given to children under one year of age.

Nuts: According to experts, children are at higher risk of allergies to nuts. This is why young children should avoid peanuts and peanut butter or any type of nut butter.

Seafood: Seafood, especially shellfish and other fish contain high levels of mercury, so it is best not to give it to children.

Meat: In the first year of life, children should not be given meat food as it becomes very difficult for them to digest. The sodium and animal fats in it are not good for the baby.

Berries: Different types of berries such as blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and citrus fruits are acidic in nature. Playing these increases the acidity of children. With that the stomach may get worse. Source: Bold Sky
