Tropical Depression Enteng slightly strengthened and accelerated as it continued to move over the Philippine Sea on Saturday morning, August 8.
In a bulletin issued 11 am on Saturday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Enteng is already 420 kilometers east northeast of Casiguran, Aurora, or 445 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
It is moving north at a faster 25 kilometers per hour (km/h) from its pace of 10 km/h earlier on Saturday.
Enteng now has maximum winds of 55 km/h from the previous 45 km/h and gustiness of up to 70 km/h from the previous 55 km/h. It is expected to continue intensifying until it reaches tropical storm category by Sunday morning, August 9. (READ: FAST FACTS: Tropical cyclones, rainfall advisories)
There are no areas under tropical cyclone wind signals, with Enteng expected to remain far from Philippine landmass throughout its stay inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
PAGASA said Enteng will only move near or over the southern islands of Japan's Ryukyu archipelago and leave PAR on Sunday afternoon.
While Enteng is not seen to make landfall in the Philippines, it will bring scattered rain to Bicol on Saturday. PAGASA said the rain will generally be light to moderate, but it may be heavy at times.
Nice article.
