While Lauren stared in horror to the sight of the broken glass on the floor, her gaze met that of the man seated inside the car glaring daggers at her, she felt the pain vanished at that moment and she quickly rushed up to him and stood beside the car, bowing apologetically.

I'm so sorry, sir" She said nervously.

Still standing with her head lowered, Lauren dared not to move.

The door to the car opened, and the man inside got out flicking his expensive well tailored suit as the shattered glass debris fell off. He shoved his left hand into his pocket, shooting her a cold piercing stare. She couldn't help but wonder who this man was.

His presence was so commanding that she dared not to look at him. All she could stare at was the floor beneath her. And even though her head was down, she could smell his scent which was so manly.

Wow! Such sophisticated human being! But his composure looks quite scary... and what an intimidating aura. She wondered while she remained in that position.

He put out his right hand pointing it at her. "What arc you gong to do The man began in a cold tone.

"Excuse me...Lauren responded, slowly raising her head up to his cold and expressionless face, giving him a vacant stare.

The damage... Pay up!" The man demanded as she quickly clapped her hands together pleading with him.

"I'm sorry, sir. Please spare me."

"Now, why would I want to do that?"

"..."

Lauren was speechless. Her heart was racing violently. She couldn't think of anything to say other than, "I'm sorry..." even though she knew it wouldn't be that helpful given the extent of the damage. And no matter hoW many times she kept repeating the word, "sorry" the man standing before her was not having any of it.

When the man's driver came out of the mart, he was shocked to see his boss standing outside the car over a broken chard of glass, looking upset. Seeing him talk to a woman he has never seen before, sparked his curiosity. He was never the type to talk to just anybody let alone a woman he didn't know. Thinking this, he walked up to him.

Is something wrong, sir? The man's driver asked, with his expression full of Concern.

"Yes," the man in suit answered extending his hand pointing his finger at her and hissed, "This clumsy thing broke my window"

She felt a pang of pain in her chest at his harsh remark.

Surprised by his boss's words, the driver turned to Lauren whose expression looked like she was about to cry. "You're the woman who was chasing those kids" He accused with a stern look. ""You should have been more careful!" He queried.

Chasing kids...? What kind of an irresponsible act is that? Are you a child or something? The man in suit taunted.

This man is too much. How dare he talk to me like this? Like he has the right to scold me for chasing those children... forget it I need to apologize for the mess I've made. She thought.

lt was an accident. I was trying to- Lauren tried to explain but was cut off by the man in suit as he held his hand up at her tace indicating her to shut up.

"Save it. I don't want to know what you have been up to"

Lauren scaled her mouth shut and lowered her gaze catching the sight of at thin line of red fluid slowly streaming down on his right hand. She gasped softly and subconsciously grabbed hold of it and blurted out, "You are bleeding!" loud enough that only the three of them could hear.

Surprised at what the man considered as a brazen behavior, he yanked his hand viciously from her grip. Even his driver was also stunned as well.

What are you doing right now? His driver growled.

How dare you touch me with those fitly hands of yours? The man in suit was furious, his tone dripping With annoyance.

Afraid of being misunderstood, Lauren stuttered trying to find the right words to explain her action.

It-it's not what you think. -I..." she paused, pointing timidly to the mans hand and continued, "His hand... is bleeding.

The man turned to his driver with an irritated look. "Can you believe the nerve of this woman? Get her contact information!"

"Yes sir." His driver answered, and reached into his breast pocket, pulling out a pen and a paper whilst the man in suit turned to Lauren, fixing her with ruthless expression.

"And don't even think about giving me a take number because I will find you and when I do, you will not like what will happen to you. He warned.

To be continued.
