The House Of Krane

Ben got up from the ground, dusting himself and grumbling as he did. His jaw ached him terribly and his elbow was slightly bruised from hitting the ground too hard when Liam had flung him out carelessly. He wiped whatever little blood sipped out from the injury onto his trousers and cursed some more at Liam.

It was still quite early for anyone or rather, any thing as he loved to call the demons, to come into Smokes and the place around the bar was deserted of beings so no one witnessed him being flung out or it would have been more humiliating. He stood at the door for a while, knowing that the could not go inside any more, at least for now or Liam would do worse and he cursed.

The renegade Angel he had come to hate was always seen around Phidian and it irked him that Liam had latched himself into her, what exactly was going on between those two, he did not know but he hated that fact that they had become close. They had become way too close for comfort. He knew there was no way that he could get close enough to her this way. He would not be able to have her as long as Liam was around to meddle and ruin his chances.

Placing both hands on his hips, he sighed and tilted his head backwards so that his face was towards the sky, his body tensed up as he remembered the opportunities he had had when she was still within his grasp and he regretted not taking her when he had every  chance available to him but it was because he had wanted to savour every moment, taking his time in exploring her body one part at a time, one day at a time.

But now all he wanted to savour was her, he needed her body pressed tightly under his. He did not understand why he felt this way towards her, all he understood was that he had to have her to himself. And he would, come what may, with or without Liam, he would have to find a way to go around the renegade Angel.

Dusting himself once more, he stepped out onto the street and walked down the paved road. Yes, he knew where he should have gone to first, but he had chosen to come here before going to his destination because he knew that she would still be here in Smokes and he wanted to meet her alone, maybe talk with her, just the two of them but then Liam had to be here.

He knew Phidian did not exactly like him but that was where the fun was. He chuckled, he loved that about her, her feisty attitude, the burning gaze she shot at him that went straight into his body and down to his manhood, the way she made him feel with just one look. Heck! Even he could not understand why he, as a human would be feeling such for a half demon. Phidian was extremely pretty, but then so was the other one.

As he walked down the street, his thoughts went back to the female Angel he had seen in there with them. He had seen many Angels but he had never before seen her around these parts. She was very young and she very was beautiful, although his eyes was not able to make out her womanly curves due to the cloak she had on but he was sure she would be even more beautiful in that aspect.

He smiled to himself and ran a thumb over his lower lip, licking the tip of the finger as he did so. She did not seem to be a feisty one, she was calm and she was curious, may be she could be an easy pick, he had never had any Angel before.

He thought of it now, if he could, he would love to have Phidian and the new Angel. He knew he was dreaming too far but what was the harm in doing so? He chuckled, imagining himself and the demon, she would be wild, she would drain him. Then he imagined himself with the female Angel, she would soothe him. He groaned in frustration and want when he felt his insides beginning to stir.

Focus.

The house of Krane was where one would come to if one was looking for a human slave or a messenger demon or for some secret information, to cast a spell or to break a spell, conjuring up a demon or anything else of the dark art. Elvis Krane was the demon to come to. Why a demon would be called or named "Elvis" was a question that he had asked himself several times before, but then he grew tired of it. He could not understand these creatures and he maybe did not want to bother himself much about it any more.

Master Krane was what he was known popularly as, a widely popular demon, known for his ruthlessness and unforgiving ways but then, no demon was ever forgiving. His dealings spread across all creatures, all creatures not limited to humans and Angels and demons. I mean, the demon had an Imp for a pet! Master Krane was a demon not to underrate nor to take for granted, irrespective of who you were, even Renard knew that. If you crossed him, he would take more than just a pound of flesh in return.

Ben tapped his knuckles on the door of the demon's house and waited a while, glancing round the environment in fear. The demon chose to live in solitary mostly because of the things he did, dangerous things that could cause extreme harm and because of the creatures he kept. No, he did not care about others getting hurt, be it its fellow demons or Angels, humans were always hurt. More than just hurt. It was in his nature to cause harm. And he loved doing it.

His greed caused him to live this way, away from prying eyes, he was the only demon in this part of the world to master such daring arts and he was not one to share his knowledge. Rumor had it that the Imp he kept was infact once a demon who tried to imitate Master Krane's dark art but could not get it right, the result of that mistake was the annoying creature which now served as his personal butler.

The door was opened slowly and Ben could see the Imp's hideous face, it smiled a mischievous smile at Ben as it recognized the human standing outside and it pulled him inside, shutting the doors and bolting it.

"What now?" Ben could hear the croaking voice of Master Krane but he could not see the demon, actually he never had and by his voice, he had always imagined the demon as a short, over blown, fat dirty thing whose looks could scare someone out of existence. The room was pitch black dark and Ben's human eyes could not adjust fully to it in time. He could not see a thing so he stood still where he was and interlocked his fingers across his stomach.

The house reeked badly of something rotten, the strong stench swam around the dark house, making it difficult for Ben to breathe properly, he knew that staying in here and inhaling this horrible smell for too long would eventually kill him. He heard the clattering of objects falling to the ground and the sound of the demon grumbling followed.

"Master Renard..." He began but felt a sharp stab on his calf. He twitched and yelp, the sinister giggle of the imp fading away into the dark told him of the culprit, it annoyed him but he knew he could not retaliate even if a sword was in his hands. Inside of this house, the protection he enjoyed from being Renard's slave ended.

"I have no humans for him now leave, I am in the middle of a spell. And I can not be distracted. It seems like I am missing one ingredient." The demon said.

Ben swallowed, the last time he was here, Master Krane had also been working on a spell and he had been missing one ingredient, it had turned out to be human blood and the only human available to Master Krane at that time was himself. He had been forced to "willingly" offer his blood for the spell to be finished and the demon had nearly drained him completely. Now again, the demon was missing an ingredient, he did not want to be forced to offer again.

"Are you just going to stand there like one of the numerous human statues I have or are you going to tell me why you are here?!" The demon thundered. Ben could tell that he was very much impatient and wanted to focus on his spell.

"Well... Master Krane...." Ben's voice shook, he had to get the words out of his mouth fast but he just could not, fear had gripped him tightly this time. This place always gave him the chills, standing in the dark with an Imp running loose and talking to a demon you could not see, it made him wonder what else was in here that he was not able to see. It made him wonder what other living things were in here, just looking at him hungrily and straining to reach out and grab him. He could not even see the door.

"Talk fast human, the Imp feeds on human flesh and I can not remember when last it was fed." Master Krane warned, lack of concern in his voice.

No sooner had he spoken than Ben heard a shrill cry coming from inside the house. The cry came from somewhere close to him, directly in front of him. It sounded like a banshee but Ben, for the sake of his sanity did not want to believe it. He swallowed and rushed his words, he wanted to get out of this house as soon as he possibly could.

"Master Renard wants a potion. The same one you had given to him the last time. He is slowly becoming unstable."

The demon laughed. "The potion he needs is what I am trying to make right now and he knows what payment he should bring, he knows what I need to make it if he wants to be cured permanently, so why did he send you here to me without it?"

"He... ummm..." Ben did no have an excuse for his Master and he could not think of any thing fast enough.

"Go back and tell him what I have said. Without that I can do nothing for him." The demon cut him off and after he spoken, Ben heard the door being unlocked and it was opened slightly, just enough for him to see his way out.

"Master Krane....?" He took a side ways step towards the door and paused.

"I am not so generous to any creature, be it demons like myself or to those proud angelic beings and most especially not to humans but you are for Renard. Stay any longer and that door closes, if that door shuts, you become my Imp's breakfast." He said no more.

Ben did not need any more motivation than that. He hurried towards the door and stepped outside but not before the Imp stabbed him again, this time in his lap and it laughed sinisterly before shutting the door. Ben yelped and ran out onto the streets, when he was a good distance away from the house, he breathed out. He had been here on several occasions before, running errands for his Master Renard, but the fear he always felt whenever he went behind that door never went away. The evil energy here was contaminating.

He began to walk away, Renard would be out of his mind again if he returned without the potion. He feared Renard might give in to the corruption that are at him from the inside if he went on without taking the potion, many Angels had but Renard would be the first Archangel to do so. Things could only get worse if that was allowed to happen.
