Excessive sweating due to excessive stimulation of receptors on the main sweat glands of the human body is known as hyperhidrosis. The area of the body affected by this disorder, depends on the location of these sweat glands.

There are two types of hyperhidrosis, e.g.

Early hyperhidrosis - it occurs as a medical condition in itself.

Secondary or secondary hyperhidrosis - This is caused by some other underlying condition.

What are the signs and symptoms associated with it?

Excessive sweating can be very embarrassing and can increase social anxiety.

The signs and symptoms associated with primary hyperhidrosis are:

Sweating in small areas, such as both the left and right armpits, the palms of the hands, the soles of the feet and the face.

Excessively balanced sweating, occurs in both hands and feet.

Do not sweat while sleeping.

It usually starts in adolescence or before the age of 25.

Signs and symptoms associated with secondary or tertiary hyperhidrosis are:

Sweating is not in certain places but in general.

It usually occurs along with an underlying medical condition.

Excessive sweating during sleep.

What are the main reasons?

The cause of hyperhidrosis is still unclear. Studies have shown that genetic factors play a role in early hyperhidrosis. Among the methods of hyperhidrosis

Excessive stimulation of the main sweat glands of the body.

Ineffectiveness of the hormone feedback system.

Some of the underlying medical conditions mentioned below can cause secondary hyperhidrosis:

Diabetes.

Cardiac Emergency.

Infection.

Hyperthyroidism.

It is also associated with certain medications such as insulin and antipsychotics.

How is it diagnosed and treated?

A complete history and visual assessment of the disease is crucial for diagnosis.

Among the studies

Iodine-starch test.

Thermoregulatory sweat test.

Complete blood count.

Chest x-ray.

Hemoglobin A1C.

Thyroid hormone tests.

The treatment of hyperhidrosis is centered on its internal conditions.

In the case of primary hyperhidrosis, treatment is associated with attending to the associated symptoms. Your doctor may prescribe you antiperspirant, glycopyrollate cream, antidepressant, or anti-depressant.

Initial treatment consists primarily of antiperspirants that follow 15-25% aluminum chloride hexahydrate. If the patient does not respond positively to this treatment, the doctor may prescribe certain medications to block the receptors in the sweat glands. If needed later, additional botulinum injections or ontophoresis are given to reduce excessive sweating.

Surgical treatment options include sweat gland removal or nerve surgery.

The primary cause of hand sweating was not found. However, excessive nervous tension causes sweating. In addition, there are many other reasons for hand sweating. Such as- Parkinson's disease, thyroid problems, diabetes, fever, low glucose in the body, after menopause, etc. Many times if there is a lack of vitamins in the body, the hands and feet may sweat excessively. Again, hands sweat due to stress, anxiety and genetic reasons. Not only hands but also feet, face and armpits sweat.

According to many experts, the feeling of fear and anxiety is the main reason for sweating. This is why it is called 'stress sweat'. Especially when giving a speech, speaking in a discussion meeting or when you are scared in a hurry, you sweat like this. Not only that, but it can also be caused by eating extra salty foods, coffee, and smoking.

Ways to reduce

No one has any control over the stress, so if you start sweating in a hurry, there is nothing to do. However, with some work this problem can be reduced a bit.

If you are thinking too much, take a deep breath and hold for a few seconds then release gently. This way, breathing for a while can reduce stress. Although this process is very simple, it helps to reduce stress.

You can keep a small amount of baking powder or cornstarch in a bag or briefcase. When you realize that you may be under stress, apply a small amount to the palm of your hand before the stress increases. This will help reduce your hand sweat.

Water is also an excellent ingredient to cool the body and bring sweat under control. Especially for those whose body temperature rises very fast. Drink enough water throughout the day to reduce sweating of hands and feet. This will keep the body cool and prevent sweating. Drink at least 2 to 3 liters of water daily to control body temperature.
