Jafrullah Chowdhury made the remarks at a protest rally and a march against rape and aggression organized by the Bhasani Followers Council at 11am today. He is the chairman of the Bhasani Anusari Parishad. The rally was held in front of the National Press Club today.

Jafrullah Chowdhury said, people have woken up. History will not forgive them if their rights are not restored.

Jonaid Saki, coordinator of the mass solidarity movement, said political power was involved in the flood of rapes in the country. The government talks big but does not take any initiative to enforce the law on behalf of women. Tanu murder, Twaki murder, Sagar-Runi, Abrar murder were not tried. Professor Asif Nazrul said that this government is patronizing casino traders, murderers and looters. Speaking of justice, he occasionally catches a couple of limestones, but does not take any initiative to eradicate them.

Referring to the assassination of BUET student Abrar, he said, "Abrar was the first to protest against this government's kneeling policy towards aggressive India. For this reason he was brutally beaten to death. The pillars built in his memory are broken. Today, those who demolished the monument to Abrar in 2020 are anti-independence forces. '

Dilara Chowdhury, a professor of political science, said she came to the rally not out of any political party identity, but out of conscience.

Dilara Chowdhury said, ‘As soon as the news paper was opened, now it was only news of rape, murder and corruption. The newspaper cannot be read. These events are dusting off all our achievements. We are shrinking in shame. These events prove that the state has become increasingly fragile from within. The elections that took place in 2016 have made this state fragile. It must be poured and decorated. This situation cannot continue, it cannot be allowed to continue. '

Freedom fighter Rafiqul Islam, secretary general of Bhasani Anusari Parishad, presided over the function. Former commissioner of DSCC Farid Uddin, president of Narail district branch Kazi Shawkat Ali, leader of Revolutionary Workers Party Akhtar Khan, leader of the metropolitan committee of the council Moniruzzaman and many others also spoke at the protest meeting. At the end of the rally, a procession was organized towards the central Shaheed Minar.

We are the children of freedom fighters

We, the children of the freedom fighters, organized a human chain and protest rally in front of the National Press Club at 10 am tomorrow to protest against the recent increase in violence and rape against women across the country. Freedom fighter Shafiqul Bahar Majumder, general secretary of the organization Anwar Hossain, Ashraful Islam, Enamul Haque and many others addressed the rally under the chairmanship of Central Committee President Humayun Kabir. From this assembly the death penalty was demanded as the maximum punishment for rape.

The speakers said that the rapists should be given maximum punishment under the speedy trial law without looking at their political identity. Many of the government's successes are fading because of some rapists and terrorists. None of these should be discounted.

National Youth Solidarity

From this morning onwards, one organization after another started marching on the road in front of the National Press Club with banners. The Jatiya Party's youth wing, the Central Jatiya Sanghati, organized a human chain and a protest rally at around 11am. Alamgir Sikder presided over the function. The rally was organized in the capital as part of a nationwide protest against rape and violence against women.

The meeting demanded that the existing law on rape cases be amended to provide for the death penalty and that the speedy trial be carried out by a tribunal. The speakers said that the horrible acid-terrorism has been stopped from the country as Pallibandhu HM Ershad had made arrangements for speedy trial with the provision of death penalty to stop the acid-terrorism. It is time to make such a law to stop rape. Shahjahan Kabir, Shahidul Islam, Morshed Hasan and others addressed the rally conducted by Fakhrul Ahsan.

Mainiya Youth Forum

The Mainiya Youth Forum organized a human chain and protest rally in front of the National Press Club at 10:30 am to protest against rape, rape and torture across the country. Syed Mashuk-e-Moinuddin, the president of the organization, said in his speech that the people of the country are upset over this heinous crime. Religious, family, social discipline is not being obeyed. The perpetrators are getting away with committing these heinous crimes as they are socially powerful and have political asylum. The assembly demanded that the maximum punishment for rape be the death penalty and that it be carried out through speedy trial.

Bangladesh Teacher Coordination Committee

The Bangladesh Teachers Coordinating Committee organized a human chain in front of the National Press Club at noon. Dhaka University Professor Morshed Hasan Khan, National University Professor KM Wahiduzzaman and many others spoke. The rally also demanded exemplary punishment for the perpetrators without any party indulgence.
