Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya
ARITAO is an old indigenous word Isaiai that means our King. "Ari" is "King", "Man" is "We."
Aritao or Our King is Isinai Chieftain Mengal of the Cagayan Valley a free leader of the land. But fierce fighting against the Spaniards.
They were groups that lived in the Central Cordillera and Cagayan Valley before the Spaniards arrived. Until they settled down in the mountains of Nueva Viscaya.
They are indigenous groups that have their own language called Isaiai.
The town of Aritao was named in honor of Chieftain Mengal of the Nueva Vizcaya people.
Too short for a History dear.
