I know that this is very late but still pursuing to write and share this one for a content's sake. I know that some people are still confused in playing #Splinterlands because of the card's abilities, skills, role, and et cetera. Let us call it as “Card's Anatomy” or “Anatomy” for short.
If you are one of those people, no need to worry because I am also one of them before...and maybe until now, but at least I have some knowledge about this game after exploring.
The game is tough in the start but you will learn it after few days of gaming. I believe that this game is one of the best because of having an affordable investment which is $10.
First things first, you need to learn the “card anatomy” for you to determine the best team to choose before the game begins. The card has usually 6 common things that you need to consider which are Mana cost, Stats, Splinter/Rarity, Level, Experience, and Abilities.
Each game has “Mana Cap” where the mana that you are going to use will not exceed on the given Mana cap. Now, every cards has Mana cost (Upper left corner of the card) as what stated on Splinterlands, the higher the Mana cost is, the more powerful the card.
Next one is the Stats, considering your gameplay, you need to consider the stats as well. The stats will determine which role you are going to use. The “gear” look alike in the left side (the one that has 4) is means it is a Melee Monster, it means they can attack near the opponents. If we will use Mobile Legends as an analogy, they are the Fighter and Assassins.
Meanwhile, there is also a Range attack where they can only attack the opponent from distance. If you out the in frontline, your team will be useless because they will not attack the opponent, in Mobile Legends, they are more likely the Marksman.
Lastly is the Mage role, in short, Magic attack. Among these monsters, Mages are my favorite, why? Mages can still attack the opponents with a shield, their attacks can penetrate the shield and directly lessen your health, tanks with shields are quite useless.
The armor logo (in the right side that has 4) means it is the armor or shield of your card/monster. The shield will block your opponent’s attack unless they are Mage.
The heart logo (under the armor) is the health of your monster, once it reaches zero, then your card will be eliminated.
Last on the list from the Stats’ section is the Speed (under the attack logo), it will determine the speed attack of your card. The higher the number, the higher chance for you to be the first attacker.
The blue in the middle of your card will determine the rarity of your card. In fact, there is a color coding if your card is a common, rare, epic or legendary.
The experience is simply the experience of your card, it will increase based on the combined cards that you have. Example, if you have 3 Living Lava card, you can combine them to increase your experience and the Level of your card.
Lastly is the abilities, in this game, I consider the abilities as a big deal and opportunity to win the game. The wiser your choose, the more chance of winning. For example, choosing the card that can heal themselves and other monsters will put you an advantage. One of the examples is Divine Healer of the Life Splinter.

Additionally, don't forget that we have six (6) Splinters, they are Fire, Water, Earth, Life, Death, and Dragon.
Each Splinter has different Summoner to have a good start of the team, for example is Mother Khala of Life Splinter, she can give all Allily Monsters +1 heart or health for better team. You will see it under the cards.
These Summoners are included on the Spellbook that you will purchase for $10. As what you can see, there are two Fire Splinter Summoner, two Water, two Earth, Two Life, Two Deaths and lastly one Dragon Splinter. Dragon Splinter will give you an opportunity to use other splinter elements and give you +1 shield for the game.
Be careful in choosing your Summoner, always choose the best one that will give you the best team. You can start joining by using my affiliate link.
