There was a webinar last April 8, 2022, about how to personal finance which was explained by Coach Yani Mona, she is a successful Filipina who shares her story and knowledge to educate people about their finance and investment to reach their dream. Luckily, I managed to attend the free webinar and gladly learned a lot from it.
She talked about “5 Steps To Win Your Personal Finance Game” which I will be sharing with you based on what I have learned.

Here are the things that I have learned from the webinar and I want to share them with everyone so more people will be inspired and motivated in achieving their goals. Hopefully, we can apply it to our lives and become successful.
Clear your financial life
If you want to win your finance game, the first thing to do is to clear your financial life. It includes setting your purpose, setting your intentions, and settling your debts. Ask yourself, “why am I doing this?” Maybe you are working hard but you never think about the purpose and intention of your work. “What are my goals?” Did you ask yourself about your goal? It will be difficult for you if you have no purpose for your hard work.
Furthermore, it will be hard to become successful if you have debts. Prioritizing your debts is the first thing you need to do to have financial freedom. Even other successful people mentioned it. You can overcome it by knowing the difference between your needs and wants. Forget adding to your cart, forget buying something that isn't worth it. Saving and investing your money is better than buying your wants.
Take massive action
The inverse of the second step is always the mistake of the people and why they fail. They love setting goals, planning, and dreaming but they never make an action. Your goals must be equal to your actions, if your goal is to have a million, you should act and work like seeking a million. No time for complaining, ranting and being lazy. Instead of doing it, focus on your action and work for your goal. As Coach YM said, “Results never lie”, the result will speak for you.
In addition, you should also learn to meditate. It can give us peace of mind and clear thinking. By this, we can be inspired and motivated to achieve our goals. Also, we need to be committed to our dreams and build good financial habits. Saving and investing little by little will give us a massive outcome.
Be the best at what you do
If you want to be successful, you must be the best at what you do. If you're a writer, you must know your niche so we can easily share and explain it to our readers. This is where you will start investing in yourself. Giving your full time and effort to nurture yourself will make you the best, attending webinars and courses even if it is a paid webinar, treat it as an investment for yourself to learn from successful people. Of course, if you are the best, you will gain the trust of people—potential clients—and get more opportunities. As one of the attendees said, “How you are in one thing, is how you are in everything.”
You can also learn new things and skills to broaden your knowledge and have another opportunity. Time passes by and you should have innovative skills, time isn't the only one that passes by but also the preferences of people and the things the needs of the community. Nevertheless, it should not be working smarter or harder but joy work.
Be in contribution
You shouldn't only be a taker, but you should also be a giver. Give more value to people as you can. Helping and serving them isn't bad. They said “Whoever gives the most, receives the most” always shares the blessings that you receive. “we can't out give the universe” if you bless people by sharing the things you have, then God will bless you more.
However, we must help with the heart, not with the mindset that something will be reciprocated. If we help someone, no need to share it with everyone, you can keep it to yourself and forget about it. Good karma will come and God will do the rest.
Work on your character
Finally, being successful isn't all about money. It's also about character. What will you do with your money if everyone hates you because of your character? Know the importance of the people around you. Build your relationship with them, share your successes with them, and learn from them. Surround yourself with the people you want to be like and work with them.
People who trust and believe in you will help you to achieve your goals and dreams. Coach YM said, “In 2025, money will not be the currency but trust“. Treasure the trust that is given to you by the people around you because it can be your bridge to success.
