This topic needs much talk, we need awareness of every aspect of it. Young girls are the major sufferers of this disease.ย  According to a survey every 2 out of three girls are going through this condition every month. Some days ago, I read somewhere that most of the countries of the world now allow three days of holidays for girls during this period. Being a girl in this step. Most People feel ashamed of talking about this topic. but it is a ground reality as it is the basis of life also. we have to accept this.

what is dysmenorrhea?

It is a condition in which a woman feels mild to severe cramps during periods.

The factor behind these cramps:

There are many factors behind this problem. It is maybe due to not taking a proper diet, maybe due to some infections. It mostly occurs When prostaglandins contract the uterus, especially during periods, as a result, the blood vessels become deficient in oxygen leading to mild to severe pain in the abdominal cavity, back, or thighs.

Periods pain Intensity and Duration;

In some girls, who are facing severe pain it starts 1-2 days before bleeding, till the 2nd day, (starting from mild to severe condition). while in others it can be as mild as can't be felt. Mostly with time, it becomes less intense and after pregnancy may vanish.

Symptom;

The common symptom found in girls are;

  1. Extreme pain in the abdomen and uterus

  2. Waves like pain in thighs and back

  3. Nausea

  4. Diarrhea like condition

  5. Vomiting.

Precautionary Measure;

Women who are facing extreme symptoms need to seek gynecologist advice. it is good to start drinking boiled water 1 week before the date. Avoid Broiler and ice creams. take proper diet. Take some low potency pain killers a day before your period's date.

Home Remedies;

Some common home remedies to overcome the pain are;

A. Put a Hot water bottle on your belly, it helps to relieve the pain fast by allowing easy blood flow.

B. Try to walk as much as you can, it helps the vessels to get enough oxygen supply.

C. Take 1 tablespoon of fennel seeds and boil them well in water then drink that water.

Closing thoughts:

We need much awareness on this topic, we need to educate our young generation. In our society, people donโ€™t want to openly talk about this condition. We need awareness even at our family level. Our schools should educate the teens about any kind of situation. We should start some periods of friendly programs to spread awareness.

If anyone of you has symptoms of dysmenorrhea, seek medical advice, and go to the doctor for an ultrasound and other tests.

A bill should also be passed in our country for 3 days of holidays for women in every walk of life just like maternity leave.

Sometimes I experienced dysmenorrhea before my monthly period or during my first days but sometimes I won't experience it especially if I do exercise before the said date. Thanks for sharing this
