"Parenthood" is the experience of being responsible for raising a child. It generally includes nurturing, play, support, and education, as well as economic and legal responsibility; parenthood encompasses both those who give birth and those who adopt or take in children.

The verb "to parent" refers to the act of raising a child; when used as a noun it refers collectively to the children being raised. It is sometimes construed as parent's main job.

Parenthood is a complex and complicated process, and it takes a lot of preparation. From physical challenges to the emotional challenges, there are all kinds of things that happen throughout this journey. However, what exactly is parenthood? Is it the fact that you have kids? No. Is it being a mother or a father? Not necessarily. To be honest, being a parent doesn’t really feel like anything. It feels like you’re just getting through your days as usual. However, when you look back, you start to realize how amazing everything was. is hard, but I have found that it is also a lot of fun. Learning to be a parent is like learning a new job. It has challenges, but it is also super rewarding. Parenthood is about creating memories with your children and being there for them when they need you most.

Parenthood is the culmination of human cycle which brings in its wake protective feelings and instincts. It is an important state of being that brings out the best in people.

The associated responsibilities are not child’s play. With the birth of a child, parents should be prepared to take on all the challenges and responsibilities of nurturing it, as opposed to uncontrolled unregulated frolicking. The duration may be fleeting but its impact lasts a lifetime.

It is, therefore, important that parents should be aware of their duties and how to meet the different challenges that come their way.

Parenthood is perhaps one of the most gratifying stages in human cycle. Ask any parent and I am sure they will tell you how special parenthood is. During the first few days you are so occupied with getting to know your newborn that it is easy to overlook all the firsts that await you in the coming years.

A few months later you are introduced to another set of firsts, when your baby begins to crawl, then walk and run, then climb and jump. It’s a non-stop sunrise of new milestones to cherish and celebrate until they become adults and fend for themselves. This unending cycle of new beginnings is made possible by parents who have the right instincts and nurturing character.

The instinctive responsibility that parents embrace to ensure their child’s well-being manifests itself in different ways. Some parents are playful particularly the dads who make it a point to join the fun by giving piggy backs rides and playing hide and seek.

Indeed, growing children need us to protect them from the dangers of a world that is still new to them. Children are not born with the same capacity as adults to solve problems, judge risks, understand consequences and make good decisions. In other words, they’re not equipped with the same "rationality" that we are.
