Be coming a better person

I think there are two key things in life that will allow someone to become a better version of themselves. First, you have to have a direction. Second, you need to understand how to get there. The direction one should have is pretty simple. Be a better person. It doesn't matter who you are or what you do, whether you are a mother or father, a student, or a professional. If you want the majority of your thoughts and actions to reflect that goal of being a better person then you can start doing so today. The other part to being a better person is truly understanding how to get there. At Life, we wanted to build an app that would help someone gain that understanding and allow them to focus their energy in the right direction.

It is completely available for free and built into the app is a free personal trainer, which we call our "Life Coach".

In life our goal should be focused on becoming a better person. How then do we become a better version of ourselves? How do we become someone we’re proud of, someone worth knowing? Do you always try to be positive or are you quick to have a negative thought? Do you say things you wish you didn't or do you speak politely to those around you? Are you kind to strangers and friends? What have you done over the past week that has made you proud?

In America we spend a lot of time focusing on finishing what we call the quadrangle. There is no doubt the quadrangle is an important aspect in everyone’s life, but why are we placing so much importance on it? In the course of our lives we will never finish the quadrangle that is why “quadrangle” isn’t the accurate word. Perhaps “life circle” would be better terminology for this course.

We’ve all done it. We’ve all stared at our reflection in the mirror and told ourselves we can do better. That we can be better. That we can work harder. And that eventually, if we keep trying, one day we will be the person we want to become.

The idea of self-improvement is a powerful one. The idea that every day we strive to become a little bit better, a little bit stronger and a little bit wiser. In fact, many great philosophers and poets have written of this struggle throughout history, from the Greek philosopher Plato to American poet Ralph Waldo Emerson to English author Henry David Thoreau.

But what is this really saying? When we tell ourselves that one day we will simply be better, are we looking in the right place?

According to Deepak Chopra, “True wisdom is accepting what is.

Becoming a better person can be steeped in the physical and mental aspects of living. It can be about having a genuine love for yourself and others, creating opportunities, and being a great friend. However, it can also be about your financial health, or quality of life. It’s possible to be a better person while you work on your personal finances, or begin to invest in quality of life with home renovations. It’s possible while you research medicine you can become a better person. There are many ways to examine becoming a better person and I’d like to just touch on some of the more frequent steps to becoming a better version of yourself.

If you could build a better version of yourself – what would you change?

Would you be more successful? More confident? More disciplined? Healthier? Happier?

Most of us have a list of qualities we would like to see in ourselves. So how do we become a better person?

There are a lot of different strategies to self-improvement that can get quite complicated and are often simplistic and repetitive. So I decided to try something different. And after many years of talking to professionals, learning from various experts, and experimenting, I’ve developed protocol to becoming a better person.

In life our goal should be focused on becoming a better person. Of course we can get better at our jobs, or better at marketing, or better at teaching, but ultimately those things are all just steps toward becoming a better person.

Trying to be a better person is one of the best things one can do for oneself. We need to keep being better and try being better each day of our lives.
